Today's LearningCurve

In a way I'm very annoyed , because some lady started to take a piss at me at my very first serious thread.
Isn't that I can handle that but it has more or less changed the way I experience ATS.
Well the theory I have is outlandish so I posted it in Metaphysics... I thought that would give me some protection ... Well it didn't

Kinda wierd ATS is about outlandish conspiracy theories isn't ? I a way I wanted to fight back... But fighting back costs energy and is bad Karma. And then the post changed....

In a way I learned something. Kinda sad but A-holes always win.
Because if I will continue to post on a regular basis I will get insulted more often. And after that I will probably fight back. Insulting people that propagate theories I don't like. I'm a pagan so probably Christians will get a bad time
So I pull the plug before becoming an A-hole myself. Instead of it I'll just post the lesser stuff more MSM less controversial...

No matter the subject, no matter in how it's presented; there is a type of personality on ATS that views every post as somekind of competition event to discredit the OP by any means possible. Personal insults, lies, and using all 25 of the rules of disinformation, and eventually labeling the OP as a "people like you" and forcing you to live outside this cyber community. All kinds of trolls exist in the world.

You are the person granting them power. They have successfully manipulated your emotions, if you get angry, they smile.


Ignore them, or engage them, but don't take it personal.

Don't seek to make everyone happy, or you will be spread thin by those hunting for it.
-especially on the net.

If they are whining about ats stuff, they are probably trying to keep ats informative and structured, so it doesn't turn into farcebook.

You are the only one you need to be happy with.

ah... I understand and learning... but what do you think is the best strategy ,ignore them proof , them wrong , insult back ? In a way I want to stay above that a-hole level , just posting my stuff and not anoying peeple.

I get # for my outlandish thoughts as well. And that's what makes ATS such a wonderful place to me.
When two always agree one of them is not necessary.

Biting obscure sarcasm is the most effective way to deal with a troll. They are usually to lazy to look up the obscure references and move along looking for less sophisticated prey. When they resort to insults and name calling....consider it a victory because those type of responses show they are out classed on so many levels. Most of the time they are to stupid to realize what just happened so move along and ignore them. They aren't worth your time.

Of course they will continue with the adolescent namecalling and insults but rest assured you are the victor.
