Yes, definitely not for the faint of heart. I'd suggest anyone wanting to read that book, to stop every so often, take a step back once in a while, pick the book back up to finish when you are good and ready.

Thank you. That's why I'm on here-I never heard of any other names-and I am pretty well read. I just read about the Franklin scandal and I am shocked. I really believed Bush was a good guy-not now. I won't be able to sleep tonight. If anyone ever touched my children, I would have killed them-literally. I will read more-I'm sure I am not the only person who is naive. I am so sad.

I was told that the perps make boatloads of money off of every one child, and we're not talking about just the pedophiles here (which would cover only prepubescent children). The victims reach up to 17 yrs old, and even beyond imo. Cause once you're in, you're in. Trapped. And in some cases... the abuse just evolves into legal things (like an 18 yr old going into porn after years of child sexual abuse, just one example) and despite the legality of it, it's just an ongoing abuse for that victim.

So yes, sex and money are that powerful.

I am also disgusted.

I think this is one of the most well-written and accurate assessments I have read on this site. I am replying in hopes more people see it. My psychologist friend said the same things, i.e. rape is about power rather than sex, and that positions of power naturally attract psychopaths and sociopaths.
