I love the Grimm's tales.
Check out 'Iron John.'
If that's not a sasquatch story, I don't know what is.

That is gorgeous, really excellent. How dark do you like your Fairy Tales? The Girl without Hands would be my suggestion to you, or maybe Hansel and Gretel.

Lots of scope for creepiness there! You are a seriously talented painter, I'm so glad I stopped to read your thread.

I don't know about seriously talented, I am still getting used to oil painting, and last night I ended up really effing up the back drop by getting paint all over it cause it was on my hand dammit. I was going to lightly wash the back in, after that, was not a possibility, so I have to figure out something else. I am probably just going to start this one over from the beginning.

I have other art threads that showcase me learning this stuff though, it serves me 2 purposes, showing you guys here, and I am able to track my progress visually without having to lay out a bunch of art. Thank you for stopping by to look though

I was thinking about rumplestiltskin, only I am going to make it where Rumplestiltskin doesn't spin the gold cause the girl has nothing left to give so I was thinking about putting her head on the spinning wheel and have a tower full of hay as the background.

Your stuff always impresses me

The Brothers Grimm reference relates to a blog I've followed for a few years now - Tales of Faerie.

It might appeal to you on an artistic level and that's the main reason I visit it...artworks. They act as a curator for folkloric art and that's what ties in to the Grimm aspect of your OP.

^^^ That's Rackham in his element and those little fellas foreshadow a lot of popular themes and critters we see today.

Don't be too hasty - I prefer the dark background.
Rumplestiltskin would be great. He wants her child remember, since fairies love stealing children, but I like the thought that he'll literally take her life instead. A tower of hay would look wonderful.

I hope you post it for us too.

Poor miller's daughter.

She couldn't please anyone.

I would definitely love to see that one, though.

Sounds intriguing...Wife of Bath? In the bath?

en.wikipedia.org...

And hence, why I am infinitely grateful to be living in this time, than in any other.
