The purrfect prom date! Teen who couldn't find a date to his high school dance takes his family CAT instead - and even gets her a pretty pink dress to match his bow tie.

Getting a date for prom can be a tough time for many guys - so it's always good to have a back-up plan in time for the big day.

A young man named Sam Steingard - whose sister Caroline, 20, of Washington D.C. shared his story online - was one such unlucky student, but luckily, he had the perfect back-up date.

The photo posted on Imgur, which is now gaining 18-year-old Sam internet fame, comes with the simple title: 'My brother took our cat to prom.'

Its a female cat so we know he's not gay.

Am I the only one who thinks that the prom just isnt that important?

Once upon a time , I hated cats. The complete antithesis of dogs. Then , we got our first cat 7 years ago. I told my wife to take that "thing" back where she got it.

But cats have the ability to "own" a human. No , dogs allow you to own them.
Now , 7 years later I have 2 cats that mean a lot to me.

I could see this. Maybe not in my world . In someone else's , yes.
