I went to a neighbour's bonfire years ago, and everyone had a guitar or an instrument. They said everybody had to participate...then handed me a pair of spoons.
I sat there about half an hour, waiting for dessert...until I realized I was supposed to PLAY them. So I did. Badly, lol.

Thank you for writing out such a lovely (bittersweet) reply.
Since my parents have both passed away I've gone through the gamut of emotions. Eventually I reached a place where I could understand that they were both hurt/broken people...that their behaviour was NO reflection on me...and that my hostility had been replaced with love and forgiveness (I guess?).
I have 'broken the chain' of bad parenting, and managed to give my own kids a wonderful childhood (their words).
You take those little 'fallen stars' and comfort yourself with the thought that your Mama is watching over you now...her "little star"...and she is proud, damn proud...of the beautiful person that you are.

Yup! I am at work now. I am going to my doc today and telling him he HAS to do something. I have had about 1 hr 1/2 sleep for the past 3 nights due to these damn night sweats.

I have been where you are. Major suckage. I did notice that coffee makes hot flashes much worse. I finally had to stop drinking it in the afternoon and resorted to keeping the bedroom freezing at night.
