Because it has been associated with proof for magnetic reversals. But that's another topic.

So it is fair to say that anthropogenic global warming is just a hypothesis as there are no papers proving global warming is caused by human co2 emmisions and/or the effects will be catastrophic.
Support doesn't mean fact.
Maybe because there isn't yet enough measured data to say a 100% AGW is a fact.
It only takes one to disprove a theory.
Time will tell

I respect dr mueller because he states "most" of the rise since 1956 can be attributed to humans, and that the CO2 model is the best so far, and should be considered the best explanation until something else is as better match.

“ T o be considered seriously, an y alternative explanation must match the data at least as well as does carbon dioxide.”

Some of the scientists on the Berkeley Earth team admit surprise that t he new analysis has shown such clear agreement between global land -‐ temperature rise and hum an -‐ caused gree nhouse gases. “I was not expecting this,” says Richard Muller, “but as a scientist , I feel it is my duty to let the evidence change my mi nd .”

Name a legitimate meteorologist or climatologist that denies AGW!

There is no way to design a test that can falsify or verify AGW.

Anthropogenic means originating in human activity. That is what most argue about.

The fact that the globe is warming fewer try to argue because that is a reported observation which can be verified.

There are many respected meteorologists that deny AGW, but they are just weather men not qualified in climatology.

A climatologist has credentials in meteorology and climatology and usually a few other credentials.

Dang , send some of that thar Global Warmin stuff down south to Georgia. Went outside to walk the dog and it is as cold as a _______ you fill in the blank. Its May here . Temps in the morning should be in the upper 60s.We been in a cold spell since 2000

golly, I guess you just proved that there isn't global warming......write a article and send it in to a science journal for publication.

But most real Climate Scientists look back Billions of years

Where the HADES did that come from ? Al Gore ? He invented the internet , ya know.
Climatologists usually go by records that barely exceed the 20th Century. They have no records dating back billions of years. Only TRUE science professions such as geologists , biologists , archeologists go back further than 1900 .

The world is only "billions" of years old

I truly hope that was sarcasm

I don't know if they can deduce the temps going back billions of years.

As mentioned previously, paleo climatology deals with detailing temps pre-recorded history.

BTY most of the paleo climatologists also have degrees in geology, biology as well as other fields.

Already been done by the members of true science. Of course the fake ones (re:climatologists) still deny it due to they have invested their life savings and 401ks into the carbon trading horse manure.

Of course , stating as a fact , you can name names ? Perhaps ? Maybe ? Of ones that stand by the man made global warming ? Of course they got their degrees from "Rush and Brush" Academy .I know of none right off-hand.
On second thought though , you may be right .
The head of the UN's (hahaha) IPCC for years was a East Indian railroad engineer . With a degree in railroad engineering . Yeah , that fits.Not.

What are you talking about and I don't know of any Rush Limbaugh or George Bush academy, but I do know Yale and Harvard both in the top 10 offering programs in the field.

If you don't know what paleo climatology is you should look it up.

You didnt answer with names. Thought you couldnt. Deflect , deter , ridicule . Where have I heard those tactics before? Hmmm. "Rush and Brush" Rush to the brush to keep from going to school".No bush included (although , may be implied)

Sorry I am not hip on the names of respected Paleo climatologists nor can I tell you the respected names of other in other fields I am not in those professions. Maybe you gush and fantalize over geologists and archeologists to where you can name them, but I am not like you.

Honestly, I think your request is a bit rediculous.

Oh, you want to talk about satellites! OK...

Satellites do not measure temperature. They measure radiances in various wavelength bands, which must then be mathematically inverted to obtain indirect inferences of temperature. The resulting temperature profiles depend on details of the methods that are used to obtain temperatures from radiances. As a result, different groups that have analyzed the satellite data have produced differing temperature datasets. Among these are the UAH dataset prepared at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the RSS dataset prepared by Remote Sensing Systems.

Source: en.wikipedia.org...

Indirect measurement.

I like that article because I work across the road from the UAH Meteorology Department. It's a real purdy building, sorta shaped like a tornado. But they can't directly measure temperature from the satellite data. All they can do is measure radiation and estimate the surface temperature based on it.

I have spent the last week running experiments on semiconductors based on temperature variations. We use a thermal chamber which gives a direct temperature readout. Still, the temperature inside the chamber can vary by +/-0.2C. That's using specialized laboratory equipment with direct contact. Now can someone remind me of the magnitude of global temperature change we're discussing? 1 degree C? 0.1 degree C? Over the entire planet based on indirect measurement?

We can talk about land measurements too if you'd like me to start posting photos of mis-located 'official' temperature measuring stations... but I'll be nice and forgo that for now.

I will say all this gives me greater confidence in the reports from ATS members than the [sic] science-minded folks over at the IPCC.

If you look up Global Warming in a thesaurus you will get a synopses of Animal Farm. If you look up Climate Change, its described with a hammer and sickle and a caricature of power hungry communist having a wet dream. To create efficiency and for the benefit of the low information voter, they have both been replaced with an image of Bernie Sanders.

I would like to know which parts of the globe were higher than average because it sure wasnt here in Colorado. We got a bunch of snow and rain in April, which really isnt totally out of the norm just a bit cool. The winter was a bit warmer than usual though.
