As aware as anyone in the States, I suppose. I just happen to think whomever did this is probably not involved on any significant level with any of the major political actors of the moment. I believe this person was politically and socially motivated, but is a fringe actor. Probably a terribly unbalanced person enjoying rent-free abode on their parent's basement or suchlike. And I do suspect they've got a beef with Bernie supporters. I've met a lot of Hillary supporters and found none of them holding significant animosity toward Bernie supporters.

If you want to see it as "talking down" then, by all means, see it whatever way you see fit. It was, however, not intended that way. Perhaps the "oozing" part was a bit of a bad choice of words and made it sound a bit harsher than I intended. What I meant was that your bias shows here, and that was all. You are dismissing the possibility of it being someone [nutty] from the far left all the while trumping up the "nutter from the far right" angle. I'd say that kinda speaks for itself.

Also, in regards to Israel and those rockets...

I hardly think it's biased to suggest a rocket striking an Israeli settlement has less than 50% chance of being fired by the Israeli government.

Actually, no. I don't have a dog in that fight either....but I will say, there are those within Israel that fund Hamas, keeps them their jobs...etc etc etc...blah blah blah. (sorry, I've given up on that whole issue) and there are those who claim Hamas was either established by or is being run from the shadows by the likes of Mossad. So there are a few different angles on that one as well.

I do appreciate that the rush of pleasure-bringing hormones that come from relating to others self-righteously can be awfully seductive.

On another, far more serious note, could you tell me more about these "pleasure bringing hormones" and how I might be able to release them. Years of "fun times" have left me destitute of such pleasures in my now sober years (alcohol notwithstanding)...so if there are any tips and tricks to this, please, let me know. If it is as simple as accosting some random peeps on the net, I might just have to give that a shot.

It could be a callous Trump or Hillary supporter that doesn't care if someone gets hurt. Or it could be a callous Bernie supporter that doesn't care if someone gets hurt AND wants to see Hillary and/or Trump supporters get blamed for being callous.

Have you got examples of Bernie supporters advocating for such things? My anecdotal experience doesn't align well with this proposal, but I'm open to the notion that my experience with Bernie supporters isn't sufficiently representative.

Well, to be fair, I'm mostly certain this person has animosity towards Bernie supporters, and I think it's a safe bet to say the lion's share of that animosity comes from the right. But I certainly don't think it is "The Right" in some royal sense. I would be surprised if any of the right-leaning posters on ATS were to do such thing no matter how angry and vitriolic they might sound, for instance. Whoever did this was crazy first and politically motivated second.

I just think it's the balance of probability, but I don't dismiss the possibility that it's a left-leaning nutter. If a murder happens in a town with a 99% caucasian demographic and I say I think there are very good odds the perpetrator is also caucasian, I'm not being racist or biased. I'm acknowledging that it's more likely the murderer knew the victim and resided in the community. That's how I look at this: of course it's possible a left-leaning nutter composed this. I just don't think that's the first place to look. The "oozing" superlative is in fact what caused me to read you that way, but I take you at your word that you didn't mean it in a dismissive sense. And let me be totally clear: we all have bias, and I do lean left. Of course some of my reasoning is subject to bias. I don't think that means it's all garbage, though.

I would argue not just as easily. The "political second" part matters, in my opinion. I doubt you could fill up one hand's counting of Bernie supporters who would want other (naive) Bernie supporters to get hurt, for instance, no matter how they thought it might boost their cause. And while I think a Clinton supporter is a more likely suspect than a Bernie supporter, I think that someone who fancies themselves right-of-center is a more likely suspect than the former two.

Exactly. It's astronomically unlikely to be the work of any organized "main-stream" actor, including Trump, Clinton, Sanders, and their affiliates. Whoever did it was a psychopathic jackass who could've been:

a) Selecting a target audience at random
b) Selecting a target audience they believe their stunt will work best on
c) Selecting a target audience they have animosity for
d) Selecting a target audience they sympathize with but are willing to put at risk for an abstract greater good

If I were to rank the likelihood, I would say in order from most to least likely, we're looking at:

I'd also suggest the grammatical error (His last name is Sanders, so you'd write "Sanders'" or "Sanders's", not "Sander's") works against the notion that it's a more sophisticated actor.

I did write that title. I think the explanation that this person generally despises Bernie Sanders and his supporters is dramatically more likely to be true than the explanation that it's trickery on the part of the Sanders or Clinton campaigns.
