He does not need to. If he replies to my post it generates a message in my inbox which is why I replied. Not sure what you are not understanding about this.

Yes. You should learn the meaning of plurals.

And you should understand how the reply function works. If he wanted to address the membership as a whole he could have hit the main reply button in the thread instead of to me.

He has been here for seven years and has close to 3,000 posts, I would think he knows how this site functions but regardless, it is not for me to educate him even if he does not.

And he replied specifically to me which means I am part of the plurality and free to reply to him.
