The evidence that fluoride causes cancer is becoming overwhelming and is coming from multiple sources. My hope is that this poison will be removed from the water supply in the next decade or so, but we will see. Dumping poisonous industrial waste products into the public drinking water is big business.

The California Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) recently released a document called Evidence on the Carcinogenicity of Fluoride and Its Salts that highlights the many health hazards caused by the consumption of fluoride. And the Fluoride Action Network (FAN) recently submitted a compilation of its own to OEHHA, which is soon to make a final decision concerning fluoride's toxicity, providing additional evidence that fluoride causes cancer.

FAN has been working for many years to raise awareness about the toxicity of fluoride, with the eventual goal of getting it removed from public water supplies. And its most recent efforts involving OEHHA could be the straw that breaks the camel's back, so to speak, as it has the potential to unleash the truth about fluoride on a massive scale, and spark a revolt against its use.

According to a recent FAN press release, OEHHA's report was birthed out of an inquiry into the science of fluoride's toxicity. It is also a prelude to the group's scientific advisory board Carcinogen Identification Committee (CIC) meeting to be held on October 12 - 13, 2011, which will make a decision on the status of fluoride as a carcinogen.

Where is our resident ATS dentist for some commentary? OH WAIT, I probably won't trust what they have to say anyway.

I heard that fluoride causes arthritis and calcification of the pineal gland, & being that it is a waste product of aluminum mining I'm not surprised it also causes cancer

F*** That

I"m still up in the air on this one. I have been listening to the stop fluoride movement now for five decades and I still have not decided about the issue. I was raised on fluoridated water. I brushed my teeth with it and consumed it and bathed in it and swum in it all of my life. I have no cancer and at 70 years old have the teeth as good and cavity free as I did as a teenager.

Well the you can get free fluoride supplements and use fluoridated toothpaste.

My problem is it is being forced on the public and there is no freedom of choice for people that drink public water and don't have the money for bottled.

Most dentists always caution patients to never swallow fluoride.

They tell you it needs to be on your teeth only.

Especially with the prescription heavy fluoride toothpastes.

Just swallowing it shouldn't be your only concern:

"fluoride in toothpaste, foods, water, and beverages can be absorbed through the tissues of the mouth and from under the tongue. (just like nitroglycerin tablets or sub-lingual vitamin B-12). According to the Physican's Desk Reference, the mucosal lining inside the mouth has an absorption efficiency of over ninety percent. Because of this, fluoride and other carcinogens can get into your blood, your brain, and your cells in no time at all."

This is the document from the California EPA that was referenced in the article:

Evidence on the Carcinogenicity of Fluoride and Its Salts

It's from July of 2011 so this isn't exactly new information. Overall, the analysis was inconclusive but there was some indication of possible increase in rates of cancer in humans. Given that toothpaste is fluoridated, I don't know how much benefit is conferred from fluoridating water in first world countries. Since the only benefit is protection from cavities and people's teeth are already absorbing likely more than enough fluoride from toothpaste to realize a benefit, it seems that even a slight increase in cancer risk outweighs the good from fluoridating public water supplies.

I'm not really well versed on the issue but it seems like it would be relatively easy to compile statistics for things like people admitted to the hospital for abscessed teeth in areas with and without fluoridated water.

So after all that, not a shred of evidence was presented to support OP's hyperbolic claim.

OP, do you even bother to do any basic fact checking before posting such nonsense or do you just believe everything you read? Because it's quite clear that in this instance you haven't/

Why would you want to drink it anyway? for one second of contact with your teeth? I dont buy filtered water, nor do i drink tap water. Didnt the Nazis floridate water in Jewish prison camps?

I have a Big Berkey, stainless steel gravity feed filtration unit that leaves calcium in the water, but removes pathogens, hormones, drugs ,heavy metals, and floride. The water tastes wonderful. It makes the best tea and coffee.
Ive tested it with dyed water and it came out clear. You could piss in it and it would come out like spring water. ( I wouldnt suggest it though).
What was the recent story about Romans having perfect teeth? Do you think they floridated the population?

My dad was a dentist and gave us oldest siblings fluoride tablets and we have great teeth. My youngest brother has awful, rotty teeth so I should ask him if he got them too, but I doubt it as we left the UK and came to Canada so maybe the pills were not available. None of us, now in middle age, have cancer. Not that that is a proper statistical pool.

That said, I still think people should not be experimented on with industrial waste without informed consent. A huge part of improving dental health comes from better foods during development which is more available now. Less dental disease with fluoride could be a coincidence.

Mucosous occurs the minute it hits your mouth. You don't have to swallow to be harmed by it.

I believe fluoride is bad for us. Cancer, the effects on the pineal gland, and any other possible medical issues it's linked to. However, my belief doesn't come from any studies or "expert" opinions. It comes from 2 things. Number one is the fact that nearly every other country has stopped putting it into their water because of the hazards it presents. Number 2, and I think this is all you need to know, is the fact that this is the one thing we are forced to consume on a daily basis. This is what the govt decides to put in all our water. Not vitamin c, not protein or any other beneficial vitamin or mineral that could provide numerous health benefits and are easily integrated into water or any other beverage, but fluoride. To me, that is all you need to know.

Mate I'm a little bit confused.

In the document you refer to "Evidence on the Carcinogenicity of Fluoride and Its Salts", the following sentence is from the conclusions;

"Overall, the current body of epidemiologic evidence on the carcinogenicity of fluoride is considered inconclusive

Hardly "Undeniable evidence".

Kind Regards

Gotta give it up, the op title is misleading and a bit dishonest, bias even.

Good job following the sources GetHyped.

On the contrary, why do you think there are no open-public-peer-reviewed studies on the biological effects of putting this toxin in the organic systems?

If it's harmless, why hasn't this been put to rest by those in the establishment peddling fluoride in toothpaste, water, mouthwash...etc.

Not to be caption obvious, but those 3 things are all aimed at entrance of the mouth, and as told is still absorbed within the mouth, which gives access to blood stream.

How long would it take to put this debate of harmful to biology, to rest? Surely could of been done long before companies made millions/billions of $$ right?

A toxic waste.

A biological vessel.

Consumption.

No thank you.

I've enjoyed fluoride free toothpaste for the past couple years though
