Good morning from the UK.

Found the following Hasselblad image this morning recently released by NASA very interesting. It is from the Apollo 9 mission and picture reference AS09-21-3212. Here is the original image cropped for neatness in Sketchbook Pro by me...

I found the object in the top half of the frame very interesting and was wondering what it was? Apologies if I am missing an obvious piece of information about what should be in the image and is NASA related.

Here it is enlarged and cropped by me again using Sketchbook Pro...

It does kind of remind me of Christian Bale soaring back down to Earth from Batman Begins!!

Peace and love to you all

It's a very cool image to find, but it is just debris.

You can clearly see the gaps between the framework.

Still very cool though.

I thought so too but the black knight looks different from this, at least from the pictures I've seen of it.

A bit of gold foil blasted off by LEM separation.

Also, they look like clouds. Are you sure this is Apollo 9 and not an orbital test?

Double checked, it was the Apollo 9 LEM but it was a test deployment in Earth Orbit.

Also, the debris does not appear in the NASA image here.

It's called "schmutz."

Pieces of dust, hair, etc. get caught in the camera. Professional photographers on Earth clean their cameras constantly with compressed air to avoid this problem. Non-professionals do not take this care, resulting in unobserved UFOs mysteriously appearing in photographs.

Everyone focuses on the dust in the camera lens.

Look at that alien ship visiting another planet!

Schmutz or Batman, I don't really care- it's a super-spectacular image, even if it is a composite of a scale model lander in front of a cardboard cut-out of the "flat" Earth hoaxed in some dark and secret CIA photo-lab with the assistance of Richard Doty, Stanley Kubrik, and Ray Harryhausen.

People should really read other posts before replying. Fellow members have linked other sources that do not show that artifact in the image.

Just to point out that it has not been 'recently released' by NASA - they have been publicly available for decades.

Here's an original of it on sale on ebay:
