Analyses from satellites in different space agencies have revealed that there was indeed a pyramid and thirty buildings at the precise location identified by the young man.

This is one of the more solid threads I've ever seen on ATS, and to think for once no debunking and name calling just a bloody good thread about an interesting topic.

I have been reading through the Chaldean ancient Star religion and attach the article if you are interested. I found it fascinating and you will see the first explanation of the virgin birth and the trinity. (being interested in Astrology as I said earlier I wasn 't surprised at the reverence ancient people had for cosmology which ruled their lives and world view so wasn't that surprised at the teens brilliant research. I love the explanation from the Theosophists and was blown away by the explanations. It has renewed my interest again. Ignore the trolls and remember best not to share one's snacks with them.

Imagine if you were Mayan - you didn't have GPS, Google Maps, but if you arranged your cities to follow the shape of the stars, then you would have a map right above your head.

'Tis true. But I think there maybe a much bigger picture. Don't know exactly what that is. One day, hopefully soon, we will find out.

its common knowledge
I have one question for the thread
No ones actually seen this ruined city in real life have they, just the blurry satellite image right ?
(my emphasis)
Armed with his images, he then collaborated with Remote Sensing expert Dr. Armand Larocque from the University of New Brunswick. By studying the satellite images and applying digital image processing a fascinating discovery was made; LaRocque proved that the 15 year old had found a major city with 30 buildings and an 86 metre pyramid.

Wow interesting jump, expecially as no pyramids have ever been discovered on the continent

I would like them to try this in other parts of the world. Makes me wonder, did they light huge fires in these places to emulate the night sky in hopes of a return visitor?

[Forgive me for saying so, but your replies seem very negative towards this story. Has something about it upset you? Obviously these things have to be peer reviewed etc., but still doesn't mean it can't be discussed and hypotheses put forward.
“I applaud the young kid’s effort, and it’s exciting to see such interest in the ancient Maya and remote sensing technology in such a young person,” said Thomas Garrison, an anthropologist at the University of Southern California: Dornsife and an expert in remote sensing. “However, ground-truthing is the key to remote sensing research. You have to be able to confirm what you are identifying in a satellite image or other type of scene.”
In this particular instance, Garrison says the rectangular nature of the feature and the secondary vegetation growing back within it are “clear signs” of a relic milpa. A milpa is a crop-growing system used throughout Mesoamerica, primarily in the Yucatan peninsula area of Mexico (which is exactly where this supposed lost Maya city is located).
