They don't believe Lyme exists in Aussie. I have been treated for several tick bites leaving welts and rings where I was bitten.
Got very sick to the extent I was taken to casualty ward and treated. After telling the practitioner what has occurred his first comments were, "Next
you're gonna tell me you have Lyme disease."
I answered with, "No, just what is wrong with me." Aching joints, fever on and off, dizzyness, no strength and general flu like symtoms gradually
getting worse. I was fit and healthy prior.
I was given some pain killers, had xrays and blood tests, sent home and later told they could find nothing wrong with me.
The onset made eating bread and drinking milk whether in coffee or on cereal intolerable, had the runs and felt sick after each meal. I bloated out
and looked like a pregnant male. Out in the sun my temp rapidily rose and I needed ice packs. But enough of the whinging and whining.
I changed my diet and stayed out of the sun for a while. Cut down on sugars and carbs and cut most dairy products and bread out of my diet. After 6
weeks the bloating and constant runs disaapeared as did the welts and rashes. My energy returned and my weight lessened. Mostly work indoors now
during the day but like a bit of sun at the beach.
I also found that I was starting to drink a lot of water. Several litres a day.
Anyway, now a couple of months down the track after starting my change in diet, I feel much better but can still feel the effects of too much sun. A
big difference from working in the deserts and the top end of australia several years ago where I had no effects like I get now.
This worked for me and was easy as I have previously used low carb diets to keep fit in my previous occupation. If I get ill again from the effects
there is no way I will go back to the doctor.
Anyway several days after my initial tests I was informed I tested positive to a mosquito born virus call 'Barmah Forrest Virus'. Never heard of it.
But it's on google. A notifiable disease and was put on a register. (Similar to "Ross River Virus) No further information about the tick bites.
The cutting out of certain foods that made me ill helped whether low carb intake assisted I can't say but I won't have milk in my coffe or any cereals
or breads as I feel ill not long after ingestion and start to bloat. (P.S. Tests reveal I am Lactose tolerent)
Hope this assists.
Kind regards,
Bally
