Help Im seeing things

I saw the title of a post change several time in a couple of clicks.



i saw the word dont turn into the following in a title line


(Don) then and a with (a ^ above it) then a (sign for the lira money) then a small (TM) then the last letter of the word which was (t)


whats up with that

Maybe somebody had edited it while you were redign the first one?

I have tracked this error for about 20 mins and just this minute saw it again



the title in question is worded

the link changes on the board in the area you reach when clicking mynew button or new post button I saw it when in both




its a conspiracy I tell you it is now what an hour now this has been doing this on just that one thread someone is trying to make me more crazy than I already am.

I reported in a thread earlier this weekend where in I was seeing charactures in the script/text of posts at first it was one thread title and was inermittant now its constant and in titles and text and avatar locations to the left of posts. Again these shapes are as follows

a minature TM sign for trade mark

a symbol something like the sign for the euro dollar best described as a sideways SI symdol or deformed e

and a with the ^ mark above it

and appears mainly in words like can't don't won't ect basically any word that ends with 't can this be fixed it's sometimes distracting to see recursive errors when trying to read long posts

See I didnt think I was crazy but I have to admit at first I thought it was a consperacy to make me crazier

It looks like a problem with "special characters" (smart quotes) that the new server doesn't handle according to the post page.

Yeah I noticed it earlier on....didn't think much about it really.
Don't know what it is...weird with all the special characters though.

Calm down. SkepticOverlord is likely just working on the code. Don't freak out.

I think that this may explain the problem. When you make a new post, you will notice this above the text box

The new server does not accept "special characters". Please convert characters such as "curly quotes" to normal text quotes

I think this explains why some posts have these strange characters in them
