If you don't need high performance, the ease of setting up wifi (especially if you are in an older building, without any existing network accommodations) makes it an easy choice.

And don't forget: if you like being hacked and spied onto by your nerdy neighbor who can zero in on your signal from far away using a high gain directionnal antenna and crack your WPA encryption under couple hours of work by exploiting weakness of your router firmware (frequent).

I could hook my Kindle up by wire . . . Couldn't carry it into the bathroom to play music when I'm in the shower.

Am still 'ranting' at Amazon because the songs I've purchased won't play without it being connected to WiFi. Sigh.

I'm skeptical that there's anything or any collection of things that the average serf and slave can do to really protect themselves in this era--and that it gets worse all the time.

Supposedly the critters have 'technology' that can go back any point in time and any location and collection of individuals and replay whatever happened there.

I certainly believe Yehovah can do that . . .

It is conceivable ET's/fallen angels could . . . along with their oligarchy stooges.

Sigh.

As to the WiFi etc. RF hazards--it's hard for this layman to filter through the contending constructions on reality. I much appreciate the experts who have made so many informative posts on this thread. I wonder what the other side's experts would have to offer.

You should be able to make them available offline. Navigate to the songs you wish to download and check the options for something like 'make available offline'.
