M. 7.0 Vanuatu --- 5th major EQ in Vanuatu past 30-days. Big one coming?

A magnitude 7 earthquake has rocked Vanuatu this morning.

The quake struck 31km east of Lakatoro and was at a depth of 10km.

It struck at 6.33am local time.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said based on data a Pacific-wide tsunami threat was not expected but destructive waves posed a danger to Vanuatu.

This quake was very shallow at 10 KM (6 MI) deep. No tsunami warnings were issued. This just happens to be the 5th major earthquake in the past 30-days in Vanuatu:

- M. 6.4 4/14/2016

- M. 6.7 4/7/2016

- M. 6.7 4/6/2016

Either way, the "Ring of Fire" is still currently on fire. There doesn't appear to be an end to these large earthquakes anytime soon.

This taught me a lot.

It seems Vanuatu commonly has earthquakes. There have been some big ones the last few days, but it might be normal.

Just waiting for New Zealand to pop.

Then it will be USA's turn
