white guilt is a term regularly used on stormfront

Care to explain what you mean by 'stormfront'?

I am not familiar with this term.

TLDR equivalent: White man calls black college speaker N-word. Institution apologizes and white man in his own apology states" he didn't realize the N-word had racist connotations." All is well, right??

Beyond a double standard, this reeks of protectionism. It wouldn't surprise me if the student in question was from Saudi Arabia or one of the Emirates and possibly related to royalty. If not then this is really beyond eft up..

I think the best thing is to let him say it and not be so pushy on not allowing people show how stupid people ideas have.

Western culture should not force him to give apology that is not genuine but people should instead allow people like this to dig their own graves. It is better to surface these things and show them for all to see so that you can look at the problem for what it really is.

A answer would be to tell him "you are quite hatefully insane on duality separation are you not?"

The question for me is :
Is it more dualistic (not racist since culture) to think Muslim should be able to be beyond duality separation and therefore be able to discuss matter calmly without ad hominem attacks. Or is the Muslim culture such a logical handicap that Muslim need to be put in special school/safe space since they cannot remain calm in the face of what they find intolerable?

I will continue on the notion that Muslim should be as capable as any other culture even if on a scientific level they are not there. One day I hope they will raise to the challenge. Maybe it is me rooting for an underdog. Wonder how Islam would have been to the world if all Muslim where Sufi?

I've never known a smelly Jew to be a racist thing, guess this is an really old racial term? Either way, hardly as bad as the many actual racist names people call Obama. You could probably start a thread about that but I doubt it would receive as much love as this thread.

If Free Beacon is accurately depicting the scenario I'll be shocked, they seem very hellbent in making higher learning distasteful in the mouths of Conservatives. It seems more that because it's become a legal issue, Harvard literally cannot comment nor publish/release names for publication. Calling a Jewish person smelly is most definitely intentionally using a hateful slur, if it happened I hope discipline is meted out accordingly.

ETA: Simply because I'm one of those "something is wrong on the internet" type people... most ethnicities that practice Islam, are Semites same as Jewish people.

Swills, you are sinking to new lows today, my friend.

Why would you want to try to justify what was said? It was obviously a disgusting racist statement. I wouldn't think a respected member like you would be one of the ones justifying the hate.

racist is a term coined by lenin some have postulated, its a communist term that has no real meaning in today's society other than to shut down debate. Besides which muslims are not a race some might even consider jews not to be a race, but thats another topic for another day. Race by definition is the human race so how can anyone be racist. If anything this guy just had a tongue like a sword and was plain rude if anything and nothing more as usual people make a mountan out of a mole hill because they wont stick to sticks and stones may break my bones and to the commentor that said that jews are the most persucuted people on the planet, what planet are you on again? The most persucuted people on the planet are black people but thats just my opinion. Its no coincidence that western society lives in absolute luxury from their ivory towers at mc donalds and scorn the rest of the world that lives in poverty who are Black, if you want a nazi conspiracy its right under your nose.

You find me one place where I said I LIKE Trump. I think he might have a chance of being better than the alternatives, but that is about it...I don't like the man and never have. What does this thread have to do with Trump? Nothing.

Stop deflecting and stop trying to justify the hate.

I have heard the term 'smelly Jew' and YES it is offensive to Jewish people.

I grew up in a community where maybe 30-40% of the population was Jewish. I didn't know how much hate was out there for them until I moved from the community. I only knew these people as my friends so, yes, I find it disgusting when people hate on them.

I sort of did, sort of didn't myself. The term "Dirty Jew" however is very common. I would say for people like you and I, who are not necessarily educationally or otherwise invested in the history religious oppression (which is not a problem, not everyone is a history buff), not knowing it is not bad.

The guy that said this insult however, is heavily invested in history of the Jews and his people. He was among students arrested from UC Irvine for disrupting a Jewish event some years ago, he also made a veiled threat when another Prominent Israeli was going to speak and he asked "are Tomatoes allowed at the event?" Essentially, he knows, he is just feigning ignorance.

The jist of what I'm getting at is this guy has a history of being offensive and combative towards Jews, and the chance he "didn't know" that Smelly Jew has racist historical connotations is about the same as a modern Klansman "not knowing" that the "n-word" was offensive. If you can believe that, then you can believe this guy. If you have a brainstem (not you specifically, just in general), you would see that this guy was clearly making a racist jab.

Undoubtably it would be offensive to Jews.

What do you think I am, an imbecile?

I'm just saying I've never heard it. Not once in any community.
Black, white, mixed, rural, or Muslim.

And none of that changes the fact he didn't call the person a smelly Jew.

He called them smelly. The word Jew didn't appear.
That's not racist.

Not click bait - pointing out a racial double standard that gets deeper every day.

Read some of the links I posted about this guy, he has a history of violenece, intimidation and threats aimed squarely at Jews. He knows what he said has racial connotations, if you are seriously going to take his word for it that he didn't mean anything predjudicial about this, then continuing serious conversation with you is an exercise in futility.

Also, just because he didn't mention Judaism specifically is a laughable defense on his behalf. If I were to go and say something about a Black politician. . . .cotton picker, for example, would that make it any less offensive? I mean, anybody can smell bad, not just Jews after all, there were white cotton pickers too.

Do you see where I'm going with this? Are you going to have serious discussion? Or continue trolling?
