This is anecdotal of course, but I've found (fairly consistently) that the higher someone's IQ tests, the faster they learn & more adeptly retain
information or skills. Like I said, purely anecdotal, but it probably has a direct tie to the brain's ability to process and compute with regards to
higher IQs (processing power, more or less, as has been already touched on)
I'd imagine that at least in skilled trade work or highly specialized/complex work, a higher IQ would be sought after as a measure of, well,
adaptability if nothing else. In that sense, I can certainly be impressed with a higher IQ if it translates to a hella fast learner, who seldom
errs.
Edit: Not a dig at anyone with average IQ, or below average. I'm in the average boat, too, so it's not like I'm passive/aggressively horn-tooting
here. Just willing to touch on something I'd noticed a long time ago in "gifted" IQ folks.
