Human Cloning Could Lead To ILLEGAL Black Market

DEVELOPMENTS in cloning could lead to an illegal black market, a top scientist has warned.

While it remains illegal in most countries, including the UK, scientists have reached a point where they are able to clone human embryos on a grand scale.

However, it is legal for scientists to follow certain therapeutic cloning procedures, if the sole purpose of it is to study cells.

Theoretically, humans could have cells taken from them to create a ‘clone’ which would be used to harvest organs and thus beat disease.

On-topic: I know some people in the rap game that swear that lil wayne is a clone and so on. IMO, people like me and you will never have access to cloning technology or its benefits, illegal or otherwise. At least in the way described. It brings up an image of "The Matrix" and the endless fields of human batteries.

As rickymouse previously said, average people will never get to partecipate. TPTB only have access to cloning.

Surely our scientists should be looking at improving our dna which is the problem and eliminating the causes disease due to weak dna in the first place. Putting a new organ in is simply expensive patching and only for those who can afford it. Our replacement limbs are improving all the time and making them look real would also help with the mental problems caused for people in this situation.

Were our research directed at improving and strengthening our dna within a generation of this process being carried out we would have better health and not need this line of research and our deaths would be limited to circumstances beyond our control.

We have enough people on the earth already without needing cloning in any case. A black market in body parts already exists in any case.

Where cloning is the only answer surely this should be part of a health package available to all regardless of wealth and paid for by the taxes we have already put into the system which out governments waste of things that only benefit themselves and their mates.

I was thinking the same thing, because I am logic. But TPTB usually lack logic.

At least they are harvesting organs from clones instead of "real" humans.

No, I haven't viewed it yet. Kind of busy right now, will take a look when I get a chance in a bit.

I used to play Warhammer 40k, I get all tingly thinking were really just a few steps away from creating 9 foot tall super humans.

How much would it suck if some guys in sunglasses and suits showed up and put you in a limo. Once inside you stare across at yourself, only older and much wealthier. You are then told your entire life was a fake, a fraud. Your "parents" were hired to raise you and care for you in the event an organ or tissue was needed.

And today? Well today is that day. You are informed that the "real you" needs the heart inside your chest. You were created in a lab simply to be a collection of spare parts for a rainy day.

Knowing you were a clone of the "real you" or "original you" -- would you go along with it, or would you let the person you were cloned from die?

Except in said scenario something tells me choices would not be an option...
Could make a good book or movie for sure though...
My only other problem with this would be that a clone would be left to live a normal life until the need to harvest from them... As they may develop harmful habits or die for instance...
For this and other moral reasons if this ever becomes reality I'm sure clones will be in stasis...
