Maybe a rapist that has a deep desire to get caught. In My "working Life" I was a police officer in Ca. and have dealt w/numerous rapists, sex offenders and even took a transgender male to female to jail a couple of times. I always let Her ride up front.

For the transgender, many times the ONLY work that they can get is in the 'Sex Trade' and I've also dealt with folks from that World. It seems to Me anyway, that the predators in the Sex Trade are almost as bad as those who prey on the elderly/mentally challenged.

As far as pedophiles are concerned, a great majority of those I dealt with and interviewed, were victims of abuse themselves. 'The abused becomes the abuser' Now this is My personal experience and if You did a search I'm confident those numbers would be the same throughout.

I'd also bet that if it came down to just 1 bathroom for everyone, someone would complain about the seat be left 'up' or the mess or the stink or the way the roll is on the dispenser..

I'm just going to go in My pants.. Then I might even get 'Bonus Points'..

Are you really not seeing it? Does a 4 year old girl need to see a hairy one flailing about while someone puts on a dress?

Should families be forced into a stall when one individual decides to prove something in front of everyone?

I don't know why people are so scared and freaked out about transgender people. What do people really think they will do.

I've hung out with both the transgendered and gays and not once did it ever get weird. They respected me and I them and everything seemed to work out just fine. The conversation was normal. They've never once done anything creepy or untoward. At no point did one try to make any unsolicited advances or be inappropriate.

people are people and they come in a wide continuum of expression. In the end were all just humans.

Besides I'm comfortable enough with myself that I'm not bothered by anybody different standing next to me. I know what and who I am. So why do I care what or whom they are, just so long as they aren't hurting anybody else.

Seriously folks they're transgender humans, not xenomorphs looking to molest and inject you with their slimy goo.

Personally I feel it says a lot about a person when they can't be comfortable in the complexities of the real world. and like it or not the transgendered DO exist and they are part of the real world too. And, last time I checked, they seem pretty harmless and just want to live and let live. If people can't handle a transgender I'd hate to see what happens when they run into something actually scary like a spider or something. DO they freak out then too.

My God, could you possibly be any more hyperbolic? If a four year old girl is in a locker room meant for adults I would think the blame would be squarely on the shoulders of their parents, not anyone entering the locker room.

I'm pretty sure there aren't very many people (if any) who would walk into a locker room seeing a child and think "I think I'll just swing my thing around for her to see". What nonsense.

Your experience is awesome.

It's not everyone's experience, and definitely not mine. I'm tolerant and don't judge a group for the individual, but I know personally the individuals that will take advantage of this. It's an ugly vision.

Our local swimming pool has male and female locker rooms.

A lot of little kids love to go swimming at the pool.

Rape is a crime.
Sexual assault is a crime.
Peeking on other people in such places is a crime.

These things are already crimes, yet you think they need to be asserted as crimes in a new way, even though it changes nothing other than makes criminals out of entirely innocent people?

And remember this too, a transgender person who LOOKS LIKE A WOMAN, or a transgender person WHO LOOKS LIKE A MAN, will now have to use the opposite restroom thanks to this law.

Can you people PLEASE use that brain for one moment and see how stupid this is? This law demands that these people use the facilities of the gender THEY LOOK NOTHING LIKE.

Damn, if I have to explain this basic stupidity again I think my head is going to explode.

You see, it is not just about bathrooms. I understand the acceptance part. We all want that but...think about this...

A local pool. They have dressing rooms for Men and Women. A man, who identifies can walk in and sit down and it is ok to do. There is no law to prove you are transgender. There is no test. Only your word that you identify as such. That is how the law is worded. There is no oversight. A local sex offender could walk in with a towel on and sit in a corner. Just watching. No law against it at this point.

To make this legal, anyone who identifies should have to go to the local DMV and change their sex to what they identify as. This way, if in this situation, they can simply provide ID. If you WANT to identify as something, show it with proof.

I have friends and have had that fit this bill. Most of them you would never know. they go about their lives now and will when this passes. Most do not even care they feel it just brings this stigma of the pedo or rapist so they would rather people, as my one friend said, STFU. When 'he' goes to the local pool he finds a spot that is his and changes. Other than the dangles he looks just like a woman.

So, it is about not making quick decisions when sometimes there is no decision to make.

If you have, then you're being purposefully neglectful in your response.

It's already a problem that grown men fall out into the open around my young sons instead of gracefully choosing a stall which we all barely fit into. I'm not a Roman. But I won't complain, I just simply bring the kids into the stall for changing.

Family Locker rooms at the YMCA are open to Everyone, family or not in many cases, it's the only one.

Sigh.

Factually not true.
There are plenty of laws in place which directly prevent any sex offender from even going near such a place.
And then there are laws in place already to prevent those with "ulterior motives" from having access to such a place.

Even ignoring all of this nonsense and bs, there is no damn evidence to show any cause for this irrational thinking. You people seem to think there's some kind of pandemic of men dressed as women perving over other people in these places, and just like the Republicans and Christians who pushed these laws through, it says more about your disturbed thinking than any kind of reality.

You act like the threat only exists if there is not a law banning it. People still do drugs even though they're illegal, people still murder others even though it's illegal. Laws don't do jack squat to prevent someone from doing what they want.
