I suspect that it was happening before that. About the time Afghanistan, and Iraq II fired up. That would have been Bush II.

That's demanding a lot of the Air Force and Navy/Marines...something had to be sacrificed. ...and this is what happens.

Essentially two wars on a peacetime budget.

That's exactly when it started. They had a choice to make. They could fight a war, or lose aircraft to required maintenance. They've been getting aircraft in as they could, but with budgets shrinking they've had to prioritize and maintenance has gotten short shrift.

Those were war years, Obama has no excuse because he exited the war theaters. When not at war, prepare for war, which he has been doing but for the other side.

Really? He did? Then why are so many aircraft still flying combat missions? There are still several hundred aircraft in theater and have been since Obama took office.

Since you apparently skipped over it, the Marine CH-53 fleet has flown 95,000 combat hours in the last 13 years. How does one fly combat hours if you're not in a Combat theater?

Almost 600 billion isn't enough. Time to get corporations to pay their protection money.

It's not when the leadership has their head so far up their ass they can see daylight.

We don't get a daily body bag count from the MSM while Obama is at the helm sinking our ship so how do you expect people to believe Obama has been warmongering, straining the military? Maybe if he put down the putter, saluted without a cappuccino in his hand and did some commander in chief stuff like making sure our military is well supplied, we wouldn't have carrier gaps, airwing gaps, and who knows what else he let fall apart on his watch.

It would have happened under any President, so long as budgets aren't being used properly.

That, I'm sorry to say, didn't begin under Obama. So share out some of the anger to others equally as deserving of it.

Congress. Bush II. The voters.

You really think that these situations just happened? The Navy has been pushing maintenance back since the 80s or earlier. The big difference between then and now, is that we didn't have the commitments then that we do now, so if a carrier went in for RCOH, and took an extra three or four months to come out, it wasn't as big a deal.

Now, we have more commitments, so business as usual doesn't work. But I get it, it's the cool thing to blame Obama, whether it's his fault or not.

Thanks to Obama and his dems!! Killed the military and did not save a dam penny. Mission accomplished in Obama's eyes.

Hopefully Trump will use his master plan and get our military straightened out faster than Reagan.

Fighting two wars and then cutting the military back to pre world war two levels is insane. He used plenty to bail out his buddies though.
