Is this a consequence of her former gender..or just what happens in MMA bouts?

Just thinking it through..

That's what I said. There's a lot of sensationalizing going on here.

The consensus seems to be about 50/50 on whether she had an advantage or not.

The injured fighter complains she couldn't get out of her grip because Fox's hands are larger then most females. What if a woman just happened to have naturally large hands?

There are physical differences in fighting. That's why generally it comes down to the training.

Note: I hate fighting. Men or women. I'm not taking sides in this. Just saying what I think and have read.

6 is WAAAAAY too young to pick a gender. All the facts are in! I'm a dinosaur mermaid! Deal with it.

Choosing ignorance helps no one.

No one "picks" a gender.

Actually about 1 in every 1500 births is born with indeterminate gender....with genitalia somewhere between male and female. In those case the doctors most often make an educated guess and operate accordingly...otherwise...Doctors sometimes "pick" a gender.

Recently some doctors are able to examine Chromosomes and other things to inform the best guess...but it is still a guess.

With a population in the USA of 300M...that means about 200k were assigned a gender at birth.

www.bbc.com...

Edit to add: by assign "gender" I mean physically...obviously the issue is that people grow up to realize that they are emotionally, biologically one gender, but have been given the hardware and "identity" of a different gender.

It is now recommended to leave it alone until the child decides.

That makes the best sense...ideally post-puberty when the child has a full grasp of which way their hormones are leaning.

Critics are scrutinizing mixed martial arts (MMA) competitor Fallon Fox, after the transgender fighter gave her opponent a concussion and broke her eye socket.

Fox defeated her opponent, Tamikka Brents, by TKO at 2:17 of the first round of their match. Brent’s eye injury resulted in a damaged orbital bone that required seven staples.

In a post-fight interview this week, Brents told Whoa TV, “I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life.”

This just epitomises why this whole transgender nonsense needs knocking on the head once and for all, and shows why the power of forcing people to conform to social pressures just to be politically correct also needs kicking into touch.

1 idiot decides he's a woman, is allowed to fight women, and it's a surprise when he seriously injures her?

When are people going to wake up and tell the idiots who just incessantly bang on about "me, me ME!" and their rights to feck off?

I really don't see where the problem is?!

I pay to watch one person beat the snot out of the other. That's the flipping point of this sport!

As long as the participants are willingly entering the octagon, I could care less. The blood lust must be satisfied!

Quick thoughts...

"Identity"..and recognizing the equality of the same is different than "Physicality"

There are men's and women's leagues for a reason?

Ditto with weight classes etc?

Then again...this does seem to be a topic no one would be talking about if not for it being known she had a sex-change operation?

A guy was just killed in an MMA match in the UK and everybody if up in arms? What's the explanation there? Shall I google up "Concussion" or "Broken Eye Socket" and MMA?

Is this a consequence of her former gender..or just what happens in MMA bouts?

Just thinking it through..

There is always risk in an mma bout. We know that very well when we step into the cage, but there are rules and weight classes for a reason.

You wouldn't send a featherweight into a fight with a middlewieght. They did that back In the day and people were appalled and called it a "freak show".

ETA: If this was a fight between two men or two women in different weight classes and the smaller one got seriously injured I would hope folks would be up in arms over the whole thing. Sadly I doubt it. That wouldn't fit this insane SJW special snowflake agenda.

You Cleary are not a fighter, but you don't need to bash mma. It is positive spiritual pursuit more than anything.

It brings the absolute best out of a person. It is honorable.

It's hard to describe just how healthy mma truly is. A social decline? Barbaric? Please. Not even, you just don't get it. Which is fine.

But ill use it.......

Mma teaches discipline and respect. It brings people together. It keeps kids off the streets. It's an incredible exercise and leads the way to treating all aspects of life in a healthy manner.

It gives us strength to carry into everyday life.

SJWs need to not discuss MMA, this is a nightmare. Just mind your own business because you have no f###Ing clue what your talking about. Seriously.

No one picks a gender, I agree because you are born with one.

Moving out of that to another gender is a choice because it takes steps to get to the desired gender.

Which IMO(which carries no weight I understand that) is a VERY mature choice best left to mature adults that have a firm grasp on reality.

Hence the 'Dinosaur mermaid' comment. What is the difference between a 6 yo saying hes a girl and another 6 yo saying hes a girraffe? None I say, its an imagination exploring the world.

To humor a child like that is cruel.

How about this 14 year ...

Or this 6 year ...

Trans say don't judge a book by its cover and then you ask us to judge a book by its cover like a picture tells the story.

Unbelievable.

Judging?

This is who the NC law is primarily meant to target. Students.

reading up on this...she took years of Hormone Therapy...which does dramatically change your physicality.

and looking at her build and appearance I am not convinced this was out of order. She actually has lessor build than the majority of female MMA fighters I have seen..who ironically might be taking steroids..

apart from the convenience of knee-jerk reactions for ideological purposes...this doesn't look like an obvious mis-match by any objective standards.

I'm just gonna say you should learn more (credible research), before you give your personal uniformed opinion.

That's what I did. I took the time, with an open mind, to educate myself on this subject.

From what?

So, you are saying that transgender 6 year old and 14 year old need to use the boys restroom.

It looks like random random violence to anyone that doesn't understand the discipline behind it, the respect you give your opponent for making you better at your game, becoming a better person through adversity and pushing your limitations by conquering fear and the good people you meet in the gym who all want to help you become the best human being you can possibly be in every area of your life.

It's a deep and rewarding pursuit that not many will ever understand.

People are born male, female or sometimes intersex. Gender is boy/girl, man/woman and children don't even begin to understand or express gender until 2 or 3. If your opinions had any basis in the decades and decades of research and science, they might be taken as something other than an uninformed baseless opinionated rant.

Which IMO(which carries no weight I understand that) is a VERY mature choice best left to mature adults that have a firm grasp on reality.

Some "mature adults" still don't have or refuse to have a firm grasp on reality or wish to admit they don't know everything. At age 8 (or younger) did you have a pretty firm grasp on being a boy or because some kids are transgender they don't know what they are. I'll urge you again to read my other post.

Hence the 'Dinosaur mermaid' comment. What is the difference between a 6 yo saying hes a girl and another 6 yo saying hes a girraffe? None I say, its an imagination exploring the world.

The meme rides again! Folks familiar with this subject and my posting on it will know what I'm talking about.

To humor a child like that is cruel.

Doing nothing or not not supporting transgender children is beyond cruel, it is torture. 77% - SEVENTY-SEVEN PERCENT of transgender children with non-supportive parents will attempt suicide. That rate drops to 4% for those that do have loving and affirming parents that provide the proper care.

Believe what you want, deny science, medicine and (ahem) personal testimony if you want but in all confidence, you are sorely mistaken and your uninformed emotional opinions are doing nothing to help these kids or their families.

So she took a bunch of chemicals to change her body, unnaturally. That has no place in professional competitive fighting.

Either competitor.
