Mountains are on top of land. A pillar supports from below.

No. In laymans terms the earth is still moving. Even kids know this stuff.

In layman's term, nothing solid is holding the earth afloat in space.

In laymans terms, the Earth is orbiting the Sun. Nothing is holding the Earth. Even the orbit isn't a perfect circle, hence the seasons each year.

You can't prove the author of the verse was talking about mountains. That's merely what you want it to be. He did not mention mountains. Nor is the earth resting on top of mountains which is what a structure does atop pillars. No logic there.

I have refuted the arguement that the bible is scientifically accurate multiple times. Do you have any proof otherwise Quinn? Please discuss the topic and take any of the scriptural evidence and make your case.

The bible says the earth rests on pillars. Not true.

The book of Ecclesiastes states the earth is set in its foundation and will not move. Again this is not scientifically true. That is the topic being discussed here. Unless you have something to being to the table I suggest not commenting.

You can walk around the earth and know that. Just mapping out the earth would absolutely prove it too. But you could also come to that same conclusion by logic alone.

The bible isn't all that special as far as information goes. Clearly there have been other civilizations with great knowledge before the bible was written. I'd say a lot of the bible is also just copied from them.

Also, there isn't a Bible Writer. It was written by different people, edited by others and finally combined by a whole other set of people.

That speaks to how special the bible actually is...
It is so important that it was essential information our ancestors felt a great need to pass along...
Also the bible has stories that go back to the beginnings of mankind...
So what are these earlier civilizations you speak of?
Clearly it is an account of and for all mankind...
So the stories from different sources and different ages are a part of the bible and are nothing more than a Testament to the facts stated above...
Of course the bible is based on ancient accounts other stories from numerous cultures all the way back to the beginnings of written history...
So many of the accounts have been condensed the basis of the accounts are still there and can further be validated by older more complete versions from history...
This does nothing to detract from the bible instead it does quite the opposite in fact...
I don't believe you can confirm or deny anything about which you choose only to slander...

science is not about making things simpler. its about minimizing confusion and maximizing information. your description of the earths orbit does neither of these things. that is to say, you didnt make it simpler, you "dumbed it down".
