I just had my life threatened debating ideas within Islam!

I was in a call with Technixcality and the Aussie Muslim.

Here is what happened.

The Aussie proceeded to explain that he was completely for suicide bombings. At which point everyone lost their cool. I confronted him directly and he confirmed that he said what he said because he is Palestinian and supports the genocide of Israelis and supported Hammas "by any means necessary".

This is not the 1st time I have heard a Muslim come on a call and express this kind of behavior but never with this sense of finality and justification.

So true, im glad you can confirm what happened..and its just insane how widespread and embedded this problem is, this is a random pull, a guy who has family and a career in the west, who supports terrorism and uses his religion as justification. The only difference between him and a terrorist is he has yet to pick up a weapon, that was one crazy conversation and indeed I lost my cool, as he justified killing innocent people via suicide bombing. The pew polls conservatively say 20% - 30% of Muslims believe this kind of stuff, which is no small number as the left would have us believe, if I were in Australia's equivalent of the FBI, I would be knocking at this guys door, almost just as scary is that the left wants us to accept them and build bridges to coexist. WE CANNOT COEXIST WITH SOMEONE WHO SUPPORTS SUICIDE BOMBINGS, DEATH OR JAILING OF APOSTATES ,AND DEATH TO HOMOSEXUALS, OR PEDOPHILIA, there is no bridge to be made.

I completely agree on all sides. Most people can understand that but the problem is the media and liberal agenda has us convinced we are monsters because we are on guard.

I'm at the point if someone supports suicide bombing and extremism then they need to get the hell out of the west.. What that looks like on the ground I do not know, but it's concerning how big this problem really is.

I agree.

What it look likes on the ground? Well a lot of generalizing and hating apparantly. Ow and apparantly any muslim is an apologist even if he clearly says he disagrees with radical practises. But thats just based on your replies and the rest of this thread here.

And that is where i disagree and warn that you should be very cautious in letting your emotions take over.

Ill repeat: alienating normal westernized Muslims wil directly feed extremism. You might as well donate to IS yourself if you keep spreading hate and generalize.

Not advocating suicide bombing at all but I'm curious to know what self defence or even outright agression in the face of a technologically superior enemy should look like when it comes to the Palestinians given their proximity to Israel, or even in the event of an organic internal revolution in the west which many people here incressingly support.

America said the same things about the VC during Vietnam..that guerilla warfare was cowardly and unmanly, they said the Kamikaze pilots in ww2 were as well. It just kinda seems like we want war on our terms under our rules so we can win...it's not like the civilian cost is much of a concern on either side for the parties involved.

What makes one cowardly and another valid when the only outcome is death anyway?

Yes, I agree and I use skype to try to reach out to other cultures, I debate with poise and decorum even there, which is why I am very respected among the groups I am in. I have talked to this person previously via voice on cam, with a group, and no such threats were made. Now, I will make some broader points, my friend from Egypt regularly talks about death for apostates, and that they are jailed in Egypt (not killed) he talks about jailing homosexuals, he talks about, children can be married and had sex with (and is regularly done) just after puberty, on these points there are no bridges, there is no compromise, however this is important, him by himself he is harmless, in fact I would gladly have him over for dinner, he is goofy (small statured) and often makes me laugh, he has been threatened for the way he talks with westerners, so he is even in danger. He calls Isis apostates yet he espouses extreme beliefs, often I'll tell him," the only difference my friend is that you haven't picked up a weapon". What I am finding as I try to extend and understand, is just how imbedded and sick these extremist ideologies are, I do not hate the individual, but I am well aware until reformation and separation of church and states takes place our cultures will clash.

This # pissed me off tonight so there's my rant.
