We took a loss on a lot of our jobs but we had happy employees and went to sleep knowing that we did the right thing regardless of the economic books in college said about how a business is suppose to be run.

This is why in 10 years you are going to be here ranting about the same thing.

How can your employees be happy if your business is taking a loss?

Strange logic you got there.

We obviously didn't lose on every job but happened and the big jobs paid for everything.

Sometimes you gotta take a job at a loss to keep your guys busy in order to keep your company together so your not paying to retrain people everytime.

Ever do business before?

Btw just because I'm anti abortion doesn't mean it's because I couldn't get an abortion.

Just because I'm anti war doesn't mean I'm in the military.

Just in case you only talk about issues effecting you.

I clearly don't work at Macdonalds.

Hell let's just do away with minimum wage altogether!

Think employers would pay the same as they do now or less?

Minimum wage has not kept up with inflation over the years.

Those making more than minimum wage don't worry about it or even consider that fact.

You build the floor first the ceiling comes next.

These people build their houses from the roof down not the foundation up.

They don't know that by lowering the foundation you lower the entire house.

It really is common sense.

They've been deluded by their educations.

I was making a point about how ridiculously easy it is to get a felony in this country. You can get a felony for driving too fast.

I still think it's besides the point.

Most companies, if you explain what the felony is, don't have a problem with the outdated things. The ones that do are the ones that have to deal with hiked up insurance to employ someone with a felony.

Businesses are businesses. At the end of the day they're their to make money offer a service/product and make money doing it. It's been like that forever.

I owned a business, my workers got paid a basic wage. Wages went up once I was established and went up with inflation. I ended up getting bought out because the business was no longer viable. Price of parts down and labor went up so the percentage I could add onto the parts ended up being less and less monetary worth over time.

I'm now in the middle of furthering my education again. I've had a few different careers. I chose those, they didn't chose me.

Most people seem to be focusing on what they can get NOW and not what they can get once they've put the work in. It's a sad world where people think they're entitled to everything because they exist.

Isn't that losing a debate 101... Discredit if you can't win right?

I've never had you post in one of my threads that wasn't an attack on me it's always been you attacking me and never attacking the information.

Every single time.

where do you get off thinking that the shareholders are the most important part of the equation?

Completely illogical.

The customer is the most important part of the equation and guess what... Without employees you don't have any customers.

Common sense people.

The shareholders are the owners of the company - whether the company is private or public. They only started a company to make make money.

Do they need customers? Yes. Do they need employees? Of course.

By the way, I do think the lowest wages should be higher, but should be implemented by the business, and not federally mandated.

Common sense.

Businesses aren't controlled by the consumer.

Let's put it this way. If Apple had never released an iPhone, consumers would never have bought it. Apple made a product that they thought the consumers might want.

Todays industry isn't about what we need anymore. It's about what we want.

I don't need a tv, internet, phone etc. They're wants.

Not really if you look at the thread you'll see me discussing information and if you look at your total contribution to the thread you'll see nothing but like 3 1-2 liner responses attacking me personally.

The facts speak for themselves.

Oh businesses aren't controlled by the consumer huh.

So if I stop paying for your services how are you going to stay in business?

Rethink that one too.

Most companies, if you explain what the felony is, don't have a problem with the outdated things.

Small businesses MAYBE, but that's a BIG maybe. Most businesses that have multiple candidates for a position will usually stop looking at an application if the felony box is checked, if you don't believe that you are wrong.
