I talk to people about the weather.

Because that's pretty much the only thing everyone is equally aware of... otherwise it's pretty much a crapshoot as to whom is going to give you that look... you know, THAT look.

The look like your friggin nuts or something.

Meh, I just don't give a damn anymore.

I make sure to take care of me and mine in preparation for yet another chaotic mess happening in the world. But as far as the rest of the folks who are asleep at the wheel ? My attitude these days is to just 'let the chips fall where they may' sort of speak.

Ugh, I'm such a jaded and cynical arsehole these days.

What is the common theme here? Jaded and cynical. Don't figure, right?

Look at my avatar mood, it's been there for over a year. I've thought about changing it recently but almost feel like I haven't quite (though almost) gotten over that hump of cold realization.

You can see that attitude in several of us, like kindred spirits. I can name a dozen off the top of my head from members here at ATS.

Knows more about what? Science? Conspiracy theories? Noodles? What is knowledge?

My personal mission is, that i want to know what is happening, like, right now? What is this event, that we call reality?

I am on this mission, because i believe that the more i observe reality, or this event and think about it, the easier the transition from an organic life form, to a non organic life form, A.K.A death.

I would like to point out the more you know the more you don't know. The more questions present themself the more present themself. Here will never be full understanding, I am for one fascinated by the truth. When i was young David Duchovney became my anti hero and let me down the path of critical thinking. It sounds cheesy but knowledge is what I measure my life in not money or success. The more I know the more I realize I know nothing. It really is a rabbit hole.

Yuppers.

I think a lot of us have lost our steam along the way, given up, and just don't have the energy to bicker and argue with friends and family members anymore trying to open their eyes to all the corruption and crap going on around us.

Some look at you like a deer in headlights and others look at you like you just stepped off of the crazy train.

Yeah no doubt. I was trying to explain to my brother yesterday about VTOL rocket, Elon Musk....etc. he didn't know who he was so I first had to explain that. As soon as I mentioned SpaceX he assumed I was going on about aliens. *rolls eyes*. What'ya gonna do?

What are you saying? Those who *know* information, or certain information, are considered "awake" while those who do not, are asleep?

If so, then we're all still "asleep" as every year, day, decade, century we, as a species, learn more and more.

And how often do we all look back at those 200 years ago and think, "My god, if only they had the knowledge...".

So no - I don't think we're "awake" at the moment. Many of us are currently aware of certain information and knowledge while many are not - some through their choosing, some because they don't understand and some because they just don't care.

Who is to say what is "awake" in the context and connotation you're putting this in?

No. Some people learn more, others ride the coat tails.

What does that actually mean?

Most breakthroughs in science come from individuals or small groups that reach a certain enlightenment or understanding on a particular topic(s) and the rest of benefit from that. Most people can go about their lives without having the faintest idea where any of that comes from.

a reply to: Rosinitiate

Right, ok. But does that mean those who weren't involved in that breakthrough or understand that level of science mean they are "asleep" compared to the people in the breakthrough?

Arguably I could come up with advances in medical science that cure all modern diseases. Does that mean the expert car mechanic who can fix any fault in your car is NOT awake??

It just seems you have a very selective view of who is and is not awake based on contribution to society at a certain perceived level.

Sure it's selective because the qualifier is being spiritually awakened. That however is deemed pseudoscience to some, be that as it may, everyone has the potential to be both knowledgable and wise. To see the light within and the beauty all around.

Ahh. Ok - that's different. "Spirituality" is, I agree, something very special and innate to all human beings. I thought you were just referring to science or physical achievements only. When you said spirituality, i get it.

I personally believe that many of our greatest thinkers are the ones who can see past the veil. It's because they can look outside the box or rather within that allows them to achieve so much. The reason I believe it is because they've typically said as much. My thoughts now drift to Einstein and Mark Twain.

To me it's more a matter of awareness. Not having some super-duper top secret info, but rather having the sense to question everything, and never take something at face value. Some conspiracies are actually real.

Another thing that comes to mind is the fact that still to this day there are Americans that don't know a 3rd building fell on 9/11.

Despite what you all may think, just because you visit ATS it doesn't mean you're on a 'higher level' than anybody else. You just have different interests.

From reading the comments it seems many of the self-proclaimed awakened do not agree on what it means to be awake.
