maybe off topic- what's a OV-99 (challenger) TPS tile worth?

I know it's off topic, but... What is a Challenger red (nose) thermal protection tile worth? Given to my lab at school for testing in the early 80's after a successful challenger mission... Just wondering... could probably be a good fundraiser for my university research project?

Well if it were given to your school, then it wouldn't 'be yours' to sell. Although if you get approval to put it up for sale for your project, then a good bidder on E-bay would probably give top dollar for it, but I doubt your school will part with it. It has a more significant meaning than just a heat tile, since it was actually on the Challenger. And I hope you aren't considering stealing it.
