That mars stuff is filmed in some desert on the rock we are currently on

No , it wasn't.

We as humans have never been to space. That "moon landing" was filmed in a studio...

You forgot to mention that the Earth is flat.

Common'. Reality. The martians are not shopping and then littering on Mars.

You guys have to pay for those crappy plastic bags!! Outrageous.

That pic looks like the remains of a piece of melted plastic that might have fallen off one of the dozens of craft who've been to Mars. There's supposedly nothing there to see, but everyone can't wait to send probes to see nothing. I don't get it.

Anything to avoid sending another manned mission to even the moon, I suppose.

Anyone care to wager on how many decades till a human ventures as far as the moon ??

Every space program seems to be going in reverse faster than before.

I would guess once all the people who lived through Apollo are gone and then another 30 years at least.

Why don't you do a little internet search on space exploration time lines. We have done plenty since Apollo, and we are planning to do even more.

People get so caught up on the Apollo missions because it is all they know or care to know.

There have been plenty of missions and advancements in space exploration since Apollo and they will continue into the future.

I saved this picture to my picture folder where I then enlarged it as best I could until definition washed out. It does look like a protective plastic surface that was abraded or torn off altogether. Curious.... it ultimately appears to be shaped as a channel ie. 'U' shaped and then lengthy.

My question is why does it not have soil filling the channel area ? Certainly there is blowing dust and sand that would have deposited soil inside as it was blown around the surface of Mars.

Off topic, but the world needs to do something about producing plastic that is having a terrible impact on the environment. Encouraging people to own long lasting bags to cut down on plastic is a great idea. Supermarkets offer long lasting bags that they replace free of charge for life which are much sturdier and better than the 5p plastic bags. The world needs to follow suit..

In regards to this though, that definitely does looks odd. I didn't know about this guy so I will have a look at his works. Thanks OP.

I take it NASAs explanation is that its part of the rover that somehow came away or fell off?

Great point! If we had HighDef in 1967, we would have seen small items that were overlooked by the NASA janitor at that time, as well.

What happened in 1967?
