i am not the only one who witnessed this as i thought it was logically just a fault light bulb. Thing is, this light bulb kept flickering for the past week.

Could be several possibilities. Maybe you have a lose ground or conductor. Too many resistors connected to the same branch circuit. Certain types of luminaries are known for flickering. Possibly even an issue with your service grounding conductors...does your resistance exceed 25ohms?
