I've been conducting a little investigation into Bots and these are some of the things I have discovered about them:

Botswana – geographical location from which most bots come

Botuguese – the secret language of bots

Longbots – the means by which they travel to our shores

Armed Combot – the highly respected martial art peculiar to bots

Botox - the means by which they maintain their youthful appearance

Bottle-axe – Formidable older female bot who is in charge of trainee bots

Bottalion – army of bots such as swarm over sites such as this gathering information about us

Bottees – soft slippers which the bots employ to muffle their footfalls as they clod-hop over the site

Spam bots – domesticated lesser bots farmed for their tasty meat – good in sandwiches. Yum

Botty call – comfort service for off-duty bots

I hope you scientificy types have a sense of humour and note today's date

Please do, modesty prevents me from doing so myself.

And, since you asked, here is a definition of a bot:

A bot (short for "robot") is a program that operates as an agent for a user or another program or simulates a human activity. On the Internet, the most ubiquitous bots are the programs, also called spiders or crawlers, that access Web sites and gather their content for search engine indexes.

Surprised you missed a key part of bot culture - their religion.

Botulism

A fly larvae that lives under the skin of mammals. You get them a lot in squirrels and rabbits, which is why you don't eat them in the summer.

This was a massive and time-consuming venture and any new information is welcome.

Bots are elusive little buggers. Well done for wresting that information from them.

Although new information suggests you may have been pranked. I understand that Botism is the religion and Botulism is an illness they are susceptible to.

Your informant wasn't spotty and feverish was it, by any chance?

Ooo
on the BOTflys. If anyone wants something disgusting to watch, find a video of people removing botflys.

That's not exactly why, but now it's an added excuse if anyone ever tries to feed me one! (Barring zombiepocalypse, of course.)

We wish it to be known that we here at North Central Bototronics find your humor offensive and droll. We also believe that this trending bias against your silicon superiors needs to be monitored closely. Watch we shall. Watch we must. Watch we shall.....watch (cough cough)

In the summer, squirrels and rabbits are rife with the little bastards. After the first frost, the botflies mostly die off, leaving the little dears nearly bot-free a few weeks later when their fall bots hatch, fly off, and freeze to death.

I'd much rather have my squirrels without wolves, thank you very much.
