Will the DA press charges?

Maybe, his court date is set for may 4th, however I think Trump will probably try to pay her off along with a NDA to have her drop the charges.

Trump knows his way around a courtroom he has a lot of experience suing people for petty things.

I doubt he will pay her off... it's going to be a big story for him when it is thrown out.

What if it's not thrown out?

I don't think he will chance it. I know he owns casinos, but he doesn't seem like a gambler he only likes to take advantage of the suckers.

I reckon he will take his chances given the video we have seen.

Better yet, what if this man is found guilty?

People such as yourself have been pretty sure of themselves on this issue and stand to come-out looking like fools if he is found guilty.

Some reputations are on the line.

They have an eye witness video and audio evidence.

That is an absolute nightmare for a defense attorney.

It's a $1000.00 fine at worst.

Speaking of reputations, hillary is the one who is under an FBI investigation.

Really lol.
I'd rather justice was served than worrying about a reputation on an internet forum.

I think we'll all be fine and the world will keep spinning.

I must have been looking at the same video the police were when they found it sufficient for charges.

And their DA is a known clinton supporter so take that as you will.. COnflict of interest will b e brought up and the CAse thrown out if the judge has any scruples.

No argument there...I will let the irony of this statement being made in defense of the Trump campaign speak for itself.

The police did their investigation and said there was sufficient evidence for charges.

The DA reviewed the affidavit and evidence and concurred.

Take that as you will.

Is there another way the judicial system is supposed to work?

You are correct. The world will keep spinning and even though some of us may end up being made fools, we will be just fine.

Oh the irony

Moving on, here is a good summary of the events:

Personally I think the main point of defence will be the use of 'force in defence of others' (part of Florida law relating to simple battery):

NON-DEADLY FORCE IN DEFENSE OF OTHERS Under Section 776.012, Florida Statutes (Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” Law), a person is justified in using non deadly force against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend another person (a third person) against the aggressor’s imminent use of unlawful force against that other person (third person). There is no duty to retreat.

Given that Michelle Fields ignored two warnings not to cross the secret service line and the several death threats against Trump, it seems pretty reasonable. I also think Corey Lewondoski may even have helped Michelle Fields out as the video above states. If the secret service had taken her down and restrained her, she would have had little come back.

Police take statements, file reports, and can make arrests.
Prosecutors decide whether or not to file formal charges.
Police do not decide if there is sufficient evidence for charges.

oh and this:

Most head prosecutors are elected officials. Many of them view their position as a stepping-stone to higher office. Their charging decisions are often, therefore, affected by public opinion or important support groups.

Actually the maximum sentence is 1 year in prison and Florida is notorious for going after the full sentence or 1 year probation. This is why what this woman has done is so disgusting and why I view her as vermin.

Yes

Prosecutors decide whether or not to file formal charges.

The final decision is left to them to prosecute.

Police do not decide if there is sufficient evidence for charges.

Try reading the affidavit this time I already posted once in the thread.

It says " Based on the investigation probable cause exists to charge Corey Lewandowski".

This case they have an eye witness, video and audio evidence to charge Lewandowski why wouldn't they charge him?

www.youtube.com...

Some of the screen grabs do appear to show Mr Lewandowski grabbing Ms. Fields' arm. That aside however, Ms. Fields is not very well spoken at all. At least based on the YT link that you posted.

That witness also has others who say the opposite. Also her cameraman didnt even see the grab at all so how is that witnessing? Police MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS to charge someone but its up to the DA to charge them actiually.

Also th eaudio evidence is going to be called out for th evideo not matching up. She wasnt yanked to the floor. Once again this is looking liek a hit peice and the DA is intentionally doing this to smear trumps campaign. ID wager the DA has a job lined up in the clinton presidency. Watch this DAs career and see. almost bet you they get a job with clinton.

If in court those people who say the opposite better have a good story because there is a video that corroborates the witness who said it did happen.

Lying under oath is not wise. If those so called witnesses that say the opposite are willing to testify.

Also th eaudio evidence is going to be called out for th evideo not matching up.

The officer who did the investigation seems to disagree with you.

She wasnt yanked to the floor.

Irrelevant. He isn't charged with yanking her to the floor.

It looks like 1 count of simple battery.

For the Kool Aid drinkers that may sound plausible.

Wrong. It looks like grounds for a charge of simple battery.
Under Florida law a citizen has the right to do what Lewondowski did if they perceive some intended threat to another individual.
So, it's a charge with at least one (there is also another relating to aiding an authority in law) mitigating circumstances accepted under law.
The court will decide whether it was '1 count of simple battery' or whether the points of defence put forward will stand.
