Gunshots reported a US Capitol Visitor Center

Suspicious package found in Times Square moments after the shooting in DC. NYPD bomb squad is on scene now. Most likely nothing, but thought I would add it here.

There was no shooting in the Capitol when the British burned it.
The Americans ran away and left it deserted.
The Brits remember it as the Bladensburg races and is sometimes referred to as the worst defeat of American arms in history.

You are right about it probably being nothing.
They don't usually find bombs. They generally explode before they are found.
Suspicious packages are usually misplaced luggage or packages left by tourists... because they are in awe of their surroundings.

When alarms went off, subject pull his gun to hand it over to security staff. Security guard crap their pants, shoots at the man, first bullet ricocheted hiting the bystander woman, eventually the (insert your number here) bullet hits the man.
What we're looking is damage control and good crisis taken advantage of.

Shooter was shot. Seems there was a person who was treated for shrapnel according to the news, a bystander. There was also a fence jumper at the White at the same time it seems.
