An unknown female suspect was being pursued by the LAPD after reportedly carjacking a vehicle earlier. Upon stopping the suspect's stolen car, she was instructed to exit with her hands in the air, as it was reported she used an unknown weapon to commit the carjacking. The female suspect ignores officer's commands, and actually makes a move towards a marked unit. What happens next is best viewed:twitter.com...

This story was breaking, and no corresponding news videos have been made available except the live feed taken from this Tweet. Some of the comments below are entertaining, and span the entire like/hate LE spectrum. Bottom line: criminals are stupid.

That's funny, a few weeks ago the cops here parked their cruiser and were running after some dude, they caught the guy a few block's away and returned to find some chick bypassed the immobilizer and stole their marked car. She ended up crashing it into a dollar store a few miles away.
The weaker sex..pffft, well the crazier sex maybe

What does that mean. "unknown female"?

They didn't want to say her nationality?

A woman here in Vancouver stole a cruiser in front of the officers and made it pretty far before slamming into a storefront.

LINK

Makes me think there must be some easy tech that would immibilize the car if the officer was not in the car. Im sure there has to be a way. I hope this doesnt become a fad. Cruisers are not cheap, even if they are dodges now.

Go big or go home I suppose.

In for a penny, in for a pound.

All or nothing.

That about covers it I think.

Similar event in my hometown led to changes in LE leaving their vehicles running when not on scene, or left while they enter a location while not in service. What was the woman on the video expecting? To make a clean getaway in their car?

In our case the cars have immobilizers but either the officer's forgot to arm it..or she knew how to bypass it..my $$ on they forgot to arm. It happened in a bad part of town, the area has alot of mentally disabled and drug addicted. Some people do the "fight or flight" thing regardless of probable outcome...crazy.

Nope, they never use that term "unknown" But if the person is black they usually try to hide that. Because the media are known race baiters and they only use the race card when it aids their agenda, but they hide those cards when it doesn't suit their agenda. Or maybe they just didn't know what her name was.. But you see, once they utilize those race cards every day for years, it is hard to trust what they mean when they say things.
And everyone knows that when the media does cover a crime in the news, they usually will leave out if the person is a minority, but not if the person is white.

When visiting my home State, I've noticed the differences in TV News descriptions of suspects being sought for criminal activity. When I'm in the predominately left leaning western part of the State, race seems to be included if the suspects are white or Pacific Rim, I've noticed. Race seems to be a descriptor left out if the suspects are black, unless pic/vid accompanies the story.

The eastern part of the state, mostly rural and right leaning seems to have no filter when it come to reporting crime. To me, it's a matter of public safety. I don't care if someones sought for being a murderer or rapist is the color purple, people want to know. The only feelings that are gonna be hurt are the potential victims if details are omitted due to an agenda or PC.

I love when others point out how powerful the Media is,

I suppose it is because this incident doesnt help with the whole 'race war agenda'

I watched the whole chase live last night on takemelive.com... the driver was driving through yards and generally acting seriously "impared". Then when she was pitted twice, she tried to leave in the truck....only to change her mind and run for the police unit. She was fighting all the way thru the "takedown".

I laughed my head off.... hard to believe anyone could be that stupid !!!!

I imagine she`ll be doing some serious time for the crimes, unless a court finds her mentally incompetent.

I`m glad it ended without any fatalities!
