Get ready for a BIG Earthquake.... 7.2+

So it's late and there's a feeling in my gut that we're about to get rocked, bigger than a 7.2 so there Ive said it, its out in the great wide world now.... could be north/west coast. within about 2-4 days.

If anything is about to give its around the Philippians plate. That whole plate that wraps around the ring has been increasingly active. Even Alaska had a few WTF shakers in the past few months.

If I had to guess though, I'd say around Pacific Northwest, or New Zealand. The stress buildup appears to effect opposite ends of the plate after a movement on one side. Something to do with weight distribution, displacement and self correcting after a balance shift.

I'd have to read up on it more.....been years.

i have a feeling in my gut humans cant predict the future.

i also have a feeling in my gut making me wonder why people making predictions are always about disasters or gloomy subjects, how about predicting when a cure will be found, or when will there be world peace in the near future, or when someone will get married. will i have a great birthday party this year? will it rain at all next month here in soCal? what about milk prices, can you predict the price increases...

oh wait you cant predict anything good. because predictions are based on likely-hood of trends.. oh yea; humans CANT predict the future. NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL. just search the dreams and prediction forums back 2 pages, just browse and see.. then go back 10 years, and tell me how many 'future-seers' have come and gone and went back to their day jobs.

EQ's happen every day, a big one happens every few months. Saying an EQ is going to happen somewhere is not a prediction it's a certainty.

Yea i know, but it does train me for getting roasted and if it does happen i come out looking like i might know something ! i have been right once or twice before maybe not as specific as yall like but the future IS wide open! lol

reminds me of Easter 2010 in Baja California. 7.2 earthquake.

Just out of curiosity, how many predictions have you made on ATS and how many happened?

Two or three that i posted on ATS but were too non specific for some, one was within the thread- to be considered accurate. but the ones i haven't posted happen more than id like i think there meant just for me to prepare for something else...

Sorry.,saying , " at some point over a few days period at someplace I won't specify an earthquake is going to happen" is not a prediction, it is a guess.

Saying " at 3 pm on April 6 NYC will get hit with a 7.2 quake " is a,prediction of an event.

With scenario one it's almost impossible to be wrong because the parameters are so undefined.

I think it's reasonable to say an earthquake will happen somewhere in the world at some point. I mean even the east coast US has them, granted not as frequently, but man the one we had a few years ago was triply as hell considering it was the largest one seen on this coast in a while. That being said I don't think the US is in for one if that is what OP is suggesting. I won't say it's impossible because nothing is impossible merely improbable.

Hey! How is AK treating you? It's starting to get nice and warm

If you flew on ravn air we may have crossed paths lol.

As for us having a 7.2 plus, I feel pretty comfortable that the 7.1 in the beginning of the year bought us some time.

If Pavlov was still going off, or if Redoubt was waking up I would be nervous, but none of that seems to be happening.

On that same card, a lot of is welcome epic scale EQs just for the adrenaline rush and the chance to witness such immense power.
