Religion, I have no idea. I'm a Christian, but I don't understand why some in my belief seem to think the eternal soul of another is any of their business.
Politics, I totally understand because it is a lot more than just a private and personal issue. Political decisions have consequences on everyone, thus anyone debating them has some degree of personal investment.
