You have that right... Most of the Lifers in DC practice the CYA deal, across party lines, maybe it's not a house of cards, but more a house of skeletons that keep them from doing the job they were elected to...

Trump is polling better than Clinton in national polls...
Where are you getting that?
Clinton v. Trump: RCP Polling
Sanders v. Trump: RCP Polling
Both Clinton and Sanders have consistently polled better against Trump.
I was reading an article earlier this week. I can't remember where it was.
They Question though is--Is there some serious dirt on Trump that they're holding back on incase he wins the primary and they want to sink him in the general election?
I think when Trump's candidacy is meant to fail, it will. But I also think Trump is 100% playing along.
Again, why don't people see that the two parties put their ugly little heads together to make sure the candidate with the plan that will let them profit the most wins.
The division between the parties and the candidates is pure smoke & mirrors.
Case in point: Trump is longtime friends with the Clintons. I don't believe for one second they hate each other now.
little off topic but i think the GOP looks out for the GOP and the DEM look out for the DEM. Whos ever party is in office gets the spoils.. they are not on the same team just have the same agenda

unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.
Uhhh isnt the person this involves part of the Trump campaign? If this is all felacious then it looks to me hes lying
Not only that, his people have been repeatedly caught getting physical with people and reporters, so I would consider that a Henchman.
She's not a hack though, I would hate to debate her. I believe the 2 incidents of his staff getting physical were proven to be false.

They got schlonged by Count Chocula? Who would schtupp Count Chocula? Is that you Mrs. Frankenberry?
But there are reasons to be suspicious beyond the usual Enquirer caveats. Donald Trump, who threatened to “spill the beans” about Cruz’s wife on Tuesday, has close ties with The National Enquirer. As New York’s Gabriel Sherman wrote in October of 2015, “Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. ‘They’re very close,’ said a source close to the Enquirer.” Trump was reportedly the source behind a hit piece on Ben Carson, which claimed the surgeon left a sponge in a patient’s brain and regularly committed malpractice. The Enquirer also went after Carly Fiorina in the fall.
So, Cruz may be having an affair or he might not. Conservatives have been referring to it on Twitter, using the hashtag #TheThing. But it’s also possible that Donald Trump—who, it should be noted, has regularly attacked Cruz for fighting dirty and lying—is behind this attack.
Origin of the story: Marco Rubio’s SuperPAC, #NeverTrump, and #TheThing
It all started on March 11, when a Twitter follower asked Rick Wilson, head of the staunchly pro-Marco Rubio #NeverTrump movement, about the release of "the thing." Wilson expressed disdain, saying that "I wish I had control of The Thing,” and “If I had The Thing, you’d have the thing."

Wilson also wrote, "dear media outlets in possession of The Thing; I know you’re scared about legal. Have an intern post it on YouTube and then ‘discover’ it." The Stop Trump PAC, which had run ads exclusively for Marco Rubio followed up on Wilson’s tweet writing "The news networks sitting on ‘The Thing’ are doing the ultimate disservice to our country."
So what is "The Thing"? According to subsequent Tweets, and per Gawker, "The Thing" appears to involve former Cruz staffer and current Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson, whose blurred image was identified by social media as one of the five women in the National Enquirer story.
