Cruz calls for patrols of Muslim neighborhoods

“We need to immediately halt the flow of refugees from countries with a significant Al Qaeda or ISIS presence,” the Texas senator said in a statement. “We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized.

Ted Cruz is now using Trump comments and is making things matter worse.

Hillary did the same thing, echoing some of Bernies points. Not surprised since donald is significantly ahead in most polls.

As usual you must be a Trump supporter. That method has being tried and hasn't worked before.

Got a source on that claim?

I'll wait.

Can't believe how stupid the EU is regarding Islam and how stupid so much of America is in denying the threat.

The attacks in Belgium obviously were a response to the Paris ringleader being arrested. The problem however is what a few have warned about. The attacks were launched from within the no-go zones in Belgium. These no-go zones are cells ready to ignite.

If folks have seen videos of what occurs in these no-go zones they understand these are Sharia and extremist controlled neighborhoods which police are too afraid to go into. Why are they afraid? The response they'll get. Safety issues. And now we're once again seeing why that is. It's not just personal safety of the police trying to make an arrest or enforce the laws on the books, it's the greater threat that you risk pissing off an entire no-go zone which has sleeper terrorists within, and they'll respond with terror attacks.

The foundation for a civil war is laid. Ushering these Muslims into EU countries and allowing Sharia controlled no-go zones necessitates terror to come from within. It's an attack from within. Many are EU citizens getting schooled in Jihad from within.

The greatest problem at large is that countries will not be able to rid themselves of terrorists within their own no-go zones without attacks on its own citizens being the response. Governments won't pay for this, it's the average men, women and children who'll pay for this.

As if women getting raped by packs of refugee wolves isn't enough. Down the road when EU states try to correct the problem the citizens of their countries are going to get blown up.

This is the threat from Muslims communities who ultimately become Sharia controlled zones as we've seen in Germany, France, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and England. Cruz isn't so much wrong here so much as Trump was right and has been right all along.

But the left and most of our politicians at large would prefer playing the PC card, worrying to offend Muslims, and only when there are attacks and innocents lose their lives do they start to change their tune. Cruz himself was afraid to offend until this last attack. And that's been the attitude of much of the EU. Too late! Now the citizens will pay as any attempt to clean up the no-go zones will awaken the sleeper cells.

Monitoring Muslim areas here only throws a tarp over the issue. Preventing them for existing in the first place is the real issue and Trump was the only one who's confronted that from the beginning.

The bandwagons are rolling.

Better hurry and jump on !!!

Of course the sane thing to do is just sit and wait for some more major attacks to happen right?

Get your bus tickets ---- half price for a limited time only.

Preventing Muslims from entering this country has already been tried? Preventing Muslim neighborhoods from forming has already been tried? Where? When? I see people whining about how mean ID cards would be.

Trump is the only one who's spoken up about this threat while most everyone else cries about how rude he is. And it's a disgrace the tune shifts only when there's a recent attack where innocents lose their lives.

But what if the psychological effect of an overzealous, oppressive, police state-style presence only results in more death, and more radicalization? Except in rare cases, do police even ever prevent crime, let alone terrorism? I could be wrong, but it seems that is the most likely result.

Your link is broken (it's got an extra http at the end). Fixed.

I think this bit from the same article is a bit better than the excerpt you used because it comes from Cruz's campaign spokesperson and offers more detail.

Cruz campaign spokeswoman Alice Stewart provided more details in an email to POLITICO.

"We know what is happening with these isolated Muslim neighborhoods in Europe. If we want to prevent it from happening here, it is going to require an empowered, visible law enforcement presence that will both identify problem spots and partner with non-radical Americans who want to protect their homes," she wrote. "Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies all have divisions that target threats like drugs, gangs, human trafficking, and organized crime. Radical Islamic terrorism is a significant and growing threat in this country, but this administration refuses to recognize it because they are afraid of being labeled 'politically incorrect.' ... The police should have every tool available to follow leads and take action against those who would do us harm."

Apparently nobody told Alice Stewart that our government has been "fighting" a "war on terror" for going on two decades now which included creating an agency called Homeland Security (surprised she's not heard of it?), instituting the largest surveillance operation the world has ever seen, etc.

Political correctness doesn't seem to have stopped anything at all unfortunately but hey, good to see that "Constitutionalist" Ted "Stone the Gays, JK I'm not a theocrat!" Cruz (himself a radicalized religious zealot) is all about targeting religious groups and further eroding civil rights in the name of fear mongering to win an election.

Good thinkin', Ted.

Most people are smart enough to know that you don't $h!+ in your own nest. Probably the safest place to be is in a muslim area.

Any violence (if any) will be elsewhere.

Who says we have to take in refugees?

I vote and pay taxes here and I sure don't want refugees. I am fine with legal immigrants, but refugees and illegals need not come here.

What cost though? Is being alive in some kind of security-prison worth it? I'm always amazed at what people will willingly give up, sacrifice, and what precedents they'll set due to fear.

When things calm down (and they always do and will) -- what will things look like? What freedoms will we all have left?

A little peace of mind now in exchange for a little less freedom later on? These things seem like they only target the OTHER guy -- but they all to often get turned back around on the people who support them.

Walls keep people out.

Walls also keep people IN.

Typical first order thinking. We're already spending billions and billions of dollars for all sorts of new law enforcement and unprecedented surveillance. We've already got a militarized police force.

This is just empty rhetoric that appeals to morons and alienates innocent Muslims and what do you think the net result is?

Increased safety?

lol.

Shall we put them into camps & make them wear symbols to more easily identity them, too?

If you answer yes, you're a POS & retarded.

Instead of patrolling the neighborhoods of peaceful citizens, take one convicted terrorist and publically, and slowly, and very messily, put him to death.

Televise it.

Put it on PPV and make some money.

Have his screams heard 'round the clock.

Then promise to do that to each and every convicted terrorist.

They won't answer you honestly...
They'll say "no one is calling for that"...

Except the above moron trying to validate ID cards.

Deep down they crave it.

How many trillions do you want to spend to prevent attacks that may not even occur?

Come on! We could get Kurt Russell to run it for us and call it "Escape from Detroit -- The Reckonator." If we sell the rights to one of the major networks, we can syndicate it like COPS! and really pull down some bank while we are at it. The major problem is "what do we call these new super-homeland security cops?" Brownshirts has already been taken. "Visitor Youth" sounds good but Kenneth Johnson would probably sue....
