Cuba is actually a pretty awesome place.

I listened to most of his speech and felt he handled to terrorist attack they way one would expect him to nothing disrespectful but nothing to surprising either.

But hey any excuse to have a go at Obama and turn a disaster half way around the world into a American issue.

Time for the Communist government to go down.

Well, according to quite a few people on here, everything is our fault.

Cuba is NOT a great place, are you crazy? The Cuban people are hostages in their own country, forced slave labor is Great? The country is nice sure, but not the Government. Obama said NOTHING about Brussels in his "Brussels" speech. It was all about Cuba. a reply to: OtherSideOfTheCoin

A Source to what? No I don't have a source, it just happened. I guess the source is CNN because that's where I seen all this happen.

"Uses," hell. he signalled that he is aware of what has happened in Brussels, like ANY president would do.

Than he went on to speak to the inherent greatness in the Cuban people, and even openly said that he believes the people of Cuba deserve free and democratic elections (and he hopes they get them soon). He cited specific examples and spoke to the assembly in Spanish several times as well.

The sky didn't fall, but the notion that cold war isolationism took a hit, which is good.

Obama condemns Brussels attacks & addresses Cuban people - full speech

The Point is, his speech should have been completely based on the Brussels Terrorist Attacks. He should NOT have been in a socialist country speaking to us about how great Cuba is. He should have flown to Washington to give the Speech, or Belgium. THAT is what a REAL President would have done. a reply to: 0zzymand0s

I find it quite funny to think that you genuinely believe that.

Yes how dare he try to improve Cuba-American relations!!!

Why they hell should he have flown to Washington to have made a speech about a a terrorist attack in a city that many Americans probably never even knew existed?

Obama should not have been in Cuba to give this speech, that is an Insult. This shows, yet again he lacks the Leadership skills to be President of the most Powerful Military in the World. It was handled wrong.

I don't agree but I will vent my feelings anyway.

ATS is not twitter-please give us a reason or a personal opinion instead of a statement in 140 words or less. What are your thoughts on Obamas trip? What are your thoughts on Castros remarks?

Are you after stars or flags? If so this is the worst way to achieve them and this is coming from a man who is an expert at inane rants.

Yes because let me guess he should have predicted that the attack was going to happen?

He was already in Cuba or does your ideal perfect president have the psychic ability to predict world events before they happen

Honestly the political agenda of "I hate obama and everything he does" in this thread could not be more transparent.

If he wants to Improve U.S.-Cuba relations that is Fine. But why not do it at the appropriate time? So Hell Yea I believe "This". Have some common sense and agree with me, come on. It was not handled the way a Leader should have handled it.a reply to: OtherSideOfTheCoin

When do you think that would be?

Have some common sense and agree with me

Irony....

It was not handled the way a Leader should have handled it

Its exactly how a leader handles it, its how they always handle it "our sympathies with our allies we will help you guys out, thoughts and prayers, will will hunt these terrorists down with our ally.... yada yada yada.."

I already told you: He didn't speak to "how great Cuba is." He spoke to the inherent greatness of the Cuban people, and his hope that they will one day (soon) hold democratic elections and become a force for good in the region and the world.

But you would have President jet around, responding to every crisis like some great political firefighter. We have first responders for that. What the president needs to do right now is speak to the power of all people to BE a force for good.

Everything else is political masturbation.
