One of the subs was as far up as they could get, with the stern fairing through the ice, and the polar bear just casually walks up, sniffs around, then stands up and starts chewing on the fairing. Did a pretty good bit of damage.

Seems like a big snow blower with blades would work to clear ice and snow away from the hatch.
