ZIKA a tropical disease that started less than a year ago in Salvador is now a major health issue not only in all central America in general but along all the Caribbean.

Islands in the eastern Caribbean have been reached by this terrible epidemics that attacks the central nervious system with devastating consequences and in many cases irreversible damage.

If this becomes a pandemic all other war politicians want to push us to fight, including Syria or Ukraine, are going to look as children games aside to this one.

USA has a large subtropical coastline along the Gulf of Mexico, Florida and Georgia that can be easily targeted by the mosquitoes carrying this fatal disease.

If our arm forces and government don't act quickly this could be the worst health emergency we have deal with since the times of polio epidemics.

Without prompt reaction Zika can do in America what Ebola is doing in Africa in just weeks ahead of now.

Im a teacher in colombia. Several of my students, in recent months, contracted Zika.

They missed a few classes with flu like symptoms..

Zika is a bit overhyped imo..

In all your insane rant's I figured you had an open line to God. Ask him to do something about it otherwise we're just going to have to deal with it. Mosquito's aren't going anywhere

They have all the airplanes, helicopters and men needed to help the countries already affected to start massive extermination of the carrying mosquitoes before they move to the north when the weather warms up in America.

Tons of chemicals must be transported to the Caribbean to stop the spread of the epidemics against us.

Now we are firing civil wars in Ukraine and Syria and you expect he is going to do us such a favor bypassing all our sins?!

It is quite clear you don't have any idea how our politics is seen from above!

If your all-powerful God is going to be behind the mosquito invasion, what good would our military do against the hand and wrath of God, purging us for our sins?

Yes! Let's zeitgeist the # outta those mosquitos. They aren't gonna even know what hit em! Quick! Get them chemicals & bombard the Caribbean at once! I'm sure there wouldn't be any side affects from something like that...

Your god sounds useless, much like Deet which was supposed to end the mosquito scourge years ago. Unfortunately it was a great example of Biology, which I'm sure you consider blasphemy. You use one chemical all you do is lead to a breed mosquitos with an evolutionary(another dirty word) advantage for resistance.

Please ask God if he's not going to intervene what the best course of action is. I hope he wasn't the one who suggested armed forces.

Who said that is God? Thats a funny assumption, we can't blame him for all the bad that happen to us, thats the attitude of the irresponsible, how about the weight of our own sins?

As an epidemics it is clear it didn't begin in 1947, neither in 1952 nor before.

On 2015 first time in history a country ask their adults to refrain to have babies for 2 years!

I'm not referring to Zika as an illness, it is clear that I'm pointing out the current epidemics that if it is not stopped on time can turn to be a huge international pandemic.

If you are trying to say something else than you should say that and not open with something inaccurate.

Of course I was referring to the current Zika outbreak in the western hemisphere, that is something you have taken out of context.

Obviously this thread points to the epidemics that spread from el Salvador to the Caribbean in 2015.

There is only correlation, not proven causation (or even a mechanism of such) that the Zika virus has anything to do with the microencephaly. There are a lot of possibilities. Dumping neurotoxic chemicals all over the place, or larvacide into the water supplies in an attempt to stop mosquitos probably isn't the best idea, when no causative link between the Zika virus and birth defects has been established. Let's at least show some mode of action for how this benign virus allegedly suddenly mutated into this monster virus which now causes birth defects before we go and poison ourselves with neurotoxins.
