Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan has claimed the definition of a terrorist should be changed to include their "supporters" - such as MPs, civil activists and journalists. It comes after three academics were arrested on charges of terrorist propaganda after publicly reading out a declaration that reiterated a call to end security operations in the south-east of Turkey, a predominantly Kurdish area. Mr Erdogan has said the academics will pay a price for their “treachery”.

He's arrested so many journalists to date, foreign and domestic, I figured this was already law under his reign but look's like it's now official. If you oppose him in anyway you are, essentially, with the terrorists. Criticize his "military" campaigns and you're a terrorist. This all does sound kinda familiar, doesn't it?

One of our biggest allies in the Middle East. The friends we keep...

I'm amazed the news stations here in the U.S haven't really talked about this. Maybe because Turkey is a NATO ally that we tend to look away and pretend it's not happening at all.

I think your right and I also think it extends to the whole Syrian war and the Ukraine thing.

We hear nothing about Syria because it seems the Russians has won.

We hear nothing about the Ukraine anymore because it seems the popularity of the stooge US govt has completely collapsed and now the US govt has nothing to work with at all in the Ukraine, according to Paul Craig Roberts.

But who knows, I'm sure the'll conjure something up there again sooner or later.

2 out of 2 losses dosen't look good for Oboma or the US international image. Stand by for a hard hitting reprisal perhaps?

If theres an antichrist out and about right now, its this guy Erdogan. He doesnt even hide his desire to rebuild the Ottoman empire, or support terrorists while jailing journalists.

And Obama, as usual, is an enabler of dangerous people.

Yeah I agree with him up to a point. Syria is down to one man Obama and lets not forget that because the leaders of the world were quite happy to ignore a whole load of bad presidents/Prime ministers of countries until it simply didn't suit their purposes. But Syria is down to Obama. And god knows how that man sleeps at night. I would certainly arrest him as a terrorist.

We would have to build a new jail were we to arrest all the politicians and put special hard labour cells in for Bush and Blair. Both liars and murderers who seem to have no conscience about the suffering either of them inflicted on the world - I bet they both go to church even ha ha.

Mugabe along with a whole lot of there probably including his nibs Erdogan for killing Kurds etc. Imagine David cameron, Sarkozy and so many more locked up in isolated cells/solitary confinement - it would be appropriate for these legal murderers oh and the royal family, bankers, industrialists who produce goods for profit regardless of their affect on the environment and some medical profiteers also there are so many to choose from - it would need to be a very very large jail. When can we start?

Turkey sucks ass.

What a terrible hell hole....well unless you are a happy tool or rich.

I know a great Turkish guy. He only visits and stays traveling the world. The world is better.

I wonder how long until they are secure enough internally that they can risk invading another country?

Greece is pretty weak now.....again.

Why do we want these double crossing jerks as allies again?

Their strategic value? Pffft. Take it, use it, rent it....they dont care. Its a bluff.

They need more than not. They have big plans and cant do it alone.....

Call it.

Sure I can agree with that if we can amend it to include Erdogan also.

Erdogan wants to watch his step...Saddam was taken out for less than this murdering crook is doing now.

Erdogan repeatedly bombs the hell out of a Kurdish city in the North of Turkey and murders thousands of civillians...Saddam attacked a Kurdish city in the North of Iraq and muders thousands of civillians...then after a war, a very profitable war for the West, Saddam had his neck stretched.

Now Erdogan is locking up journo's and dissidents, and academics oppposed to his brutal regiem and his illegal support for ISIS terrorists / buying their blood soaked oil, and hardly a peep out of the West...Just saying.

Hypocrisy gone mad.

this basically shuts down all those new world order conspiracies.
if the man in power wants to do evil on a mass scale, they just do it.

I found this video about some of the stuff going on in Turkey. The video talks about the Kurds and the uprising going on in a few places in Turkey.. I am not there so I certainly cannot validate all that is said in the video, however, I do believe much of what is being said.
