Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan has claimed the definition of a terrorist should be changed to include their "supporters" - such as MPs, civil activists and journalists. It comes after three academics were arrested on charges of terrorist propaganda after publicly reading out a declaration that reiterated a call to end security operations in the south-east of Turkey, a predominantly Kurdish area. Mr Erdogan has said the academics will pay a price for their “treachery”.

He's arrested so many journalists to date, foreign and domestic, I figured this was already law under his reign but look's like it's now official. If you oppose him in anyway you are, essentially, with the terrorists. Criticize his "military" campaigns and you're a terrorist. This all does sound kinda familiar, doesn't it?

I'm amazed the news stations here in the U.S haven't really talked about this. Maybe because Turkey is a NATO ally that we tend to look away and pretend it's not happening at all.
