I’m designing this site and I love the idea of embedding a QuickTime video within the website. As always, I have a few concerns.

1.) Is it possible to either add a single frame to the beginning of the video or alter the first frame of the video? Basically, I want to add a somewhat opaque color overlay to the video and maybe a large title. If not that, then I want to brighten either the first frame of the video or the entire thing.

2.) Is there a tag I can add to make the video auto rewind after its done playing?

Here is some code to answer #2... I have no idea about #1...

< EMBED SRC="http://media.victoryrecords.com/hh_ohio_400k.mov" WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="256" AUTOPLAY="true" CONTROLLER="true" LOOP="true" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/">< /EMBED>

take out the spaces after < and EMBED in the beginning and < and / in the last embed tag to make it work.

Doing that should loop the video back to it's beginning, but you can change it how you wish. (By the way, that band is Hawthorne Heights... good band, check them out
)

Another question:

Does anyone know of a decent and possibly free quicktime to .avi or .mpeg converter?

Yup, follow this. Note what it says uptop about MOV files. This will convert it to MPG.
