This is all such ridiculousness. Trump is no more a Hitler than Hillary, or Bernie. James Woods and Don Jr. Didn't smear women, sensationalize much?

Did you really compare Sanders to Hitler? Such ignorance!!

Just so you know, Sanders lost family to Hitler's concentration camps!

The original defaming was done by the media painting her as a Nazi. Where's your uproar about that?

What defamation is it that you're talking about exactly? They didn't have to paint her as anything. She admitted to the Nazi salute. What she said later is all well and good and you can choose to believe her if you want to do so but it's got absolutely nothing to do with anyone distorting her actions. She did it. She admitted it. She clarified her intent and her statements were PUBLISHED IN THE NEW YORK FRICKIN TIMES.

Yeah, the evil media. blah blah blah.

The evil media that gave Mrs. Peterson a chance to explain her actions. Something that Donald Jr and James Woods didn't do.

But you're right, I generally don't care about this, it's just noise in comparison to

You don't care. Got it. Yet here you are, not caring verbosely. If you actually didn't care, would you be? Could it be that you're talking out both sides of your mouth in some ill-conceived slight?

I didn't say I "don't care". I said I "generally don't care", then explained why not in relation to more important issues.

Misrepresenting my words is an insincere debate tactic.

Donald Trump Jr. also retweeted a White Nationalist

In an effort to tamp down the controversy, his son, Donald Trump Jr., promoted a tweet from @voxday which alleged the woman in the picture was actually an activist supporting Bernie Sanders:

Even more disturbing was that the @voxday account is a cesspool of white nationalism.

Link

Vox Day is Supreme Dark Lord on twitter, the person Donald Trump Jr. retweeted....This is now a few times that the Trump campaign has retweeted a white natinoalist.

Doesn't stop Progressives from referring to Trump as Hitler though does it?

You might have made something clear, but you sure as hell didn't make the Progressives and their tactics look any better?

Trump is definitely using the same populist and nationalist message that Hitler used, right down to the demonization of immigrants.

Can you deny that?

I'm sure you will

Not everything Hitler said was bad. We all know hitler was bad snd did bad things. People know that hitler was evil so they assume every single sentence in his speaches was evil.

This is hardly the case. Hitler actually had many good things to say.

Damn good post.

If you have a kid who says something should you be responsible for what they said?

WOW!

If my kid is an integral part of my political campaign, then yes I would take responsibility for what they said. However knowing how Trump has refused to directly disavow white nationalist and how he himself in the past has also retweeted White Nationalist, I don't expect him to.

Hah, so the man who is threatening to sue every news media outlet out there, for Slander and Libel, is guilty of slander and libel?

Huh, who would have seen that coming. And yet his supporters will continue to make excuses.

Kool Aid anyone?

But could you control your kid? I know you are only what 23, 24? It takes experience as a parent to understand just how much control you have over your children?

Mold them all you want, but I think it is disingenuous to use what Trumps kid said to use against Trump??? Yea, I know, it's a hard concept to grasp for those so wrapped up in their "political religion" to understand.....

Good question.

Should Bernie be held responsible for his supporters doing this outside Trump's rally?

link

That's blatant racism. Notice the media doesn't touch it when the left is responsible.

Misrepresenting my words is an insincere debate tactic.

How was I misrepresenting what you said when I quoted your exact words in my post? If that wasn't good enough, your comments were only a few posts back in thread for everyone to read. Playing the victim is pretty insincere in my book.

This isn't much of a debate unless you're disputing some part of the OP?

- Was the woman in the picture Portia Boulger? No.
- Did Donald J. Trump Jr. and James Woods both claim that she was? Yes.
- Did Donald J. Trump Jr. and James Woods further state the following:

"She runs Bernie Sander's women for Bernie site. It's all staged." -- Donald J. Trump Jr.
"So called #Trump "Nazi" is a #BernieSanders agitator / operative?" -- James Woods

Yes.

- Did Birgitt Peterson admit to being the woman in the photo? Yes.
- Did Birgitt Peterson admit that she was performing a Nazi salute? Yes.
- Did I include the explanation from Birgitt Peterson reported by the NY Times? Yes.

That reminds me — the Chicago Tribune who has been accused of misrepresenting Birgitt Peterson for posting the picture to Twitter in the first place, published a follow up article where they also allowed her to explain her actions.

Trump supporter explains what led to 'Heil, Hitler' salute at canceled Chicago rally

She said the protesters told her, "You are here to vote for Hitler," and they started giving a Nazi salute.

Peterson said she told the protesters she was German and asked them if they knew what the salute meant.

"So Birgitt decided to teach them to do it,'' said Donald Peterson, who insisted they were "not Nazis'' and absolutely not supporters or "saluting'' Adolf Hitler.

"I lifted my arms," she said, adding that in German she said, "Hail to the German Reich."

A protester who was photographed with Peterson, Michael Joseph Garza, told the Tribune on Saturday he did not believe Peterson was responding to anyone else when she raised her arm in the salute.

"I went up to her and said, 'Ma'am, please leave, we have understood you, we have made a (path),'" Garza recalled. "She said, 'Go? Back in my day, this is what we did,' basically, and then she hailed Hitler."

Maybe she's telling the truth and was misunderstood, maybe she's lying. I don't really know and the purpose of this thread wasn't to debate what Mrs. Peterson's intentions were or even to discuss Mrs. Peterson beyond accurately identifying her as the woman in the photo and to expose the disinformation spread by Trump and Woods. Out of a desire to be fair, I included her explanation in the OP. Looks to me like everyone has been striving for accuracy in this situation except Donald J. Trump Jr., James Woods and others who participated in the smearing of Portia Boulger — the only clear victim in this situation.

It seems that you'd rather discuss anything but the topic at hand.

Do you seriously think (like so many uninformed but very opinionated people do) that everything Hitler said and did was evil?

He started welfare programs, preservation of animals, promoted an unprecedented surge in technological research and development, promoted and spoke about strong family values, got Germany out of a depression by lowering interest rates and implementing job programs, built a national highway system, nationalized the German currency, advanced rocketry that would eventually take us to the moon(the head of the U.S. space program that brought us to the moon was a Natzi by the way) I can go for the rest of this page....

Does anything on that list sound familiar? Because im pretty sure Obama spoke about nationalizing the currency among other things on that list like you know revamping the infrastructure, welfare programs etc.

Do you consider anything on that list evil?

Deny ignorance.

Trump was supposedly responsible for those who chose to interrupt his speech and shut it down right? How is it different? Why is it acceptable to blame Trump for his political rally for those who chose to disrupt a peaceful assembly ?

Tit for Tat will destroy us all! Seen it many times in political arguments where some one of one religious belief says this person should go to jail for what they did, and then a person from another religion says," Well this person from your church did it?"!

As adults, how are we any damned different than the children we tried to raise? R or D, if you violate the law, you go to freakin prison! I do not protect ANYONE or EXCUSE anyone, because they might be someone on my team!

Why do we try to raise our children to be loving and acceptable of others, yet as adults we allow religion and politics to allow us to behave as children?

When did I call any of those things evil?

I simply said that Trump is using the same nationalist and populist message that Hitler used.

Right down to the demonization of immigrants.

Is that all you got? An insult? Good take a hike make it permanent.

Im not defending Hitler. Hitler was evil.

For the people with a comprehension problem what i am saying is the Natzi's did a lot and talked about a lot of good things for their cointry, a lot of things we do in this country this very day. Of course our presidents and presidential hopefuls are going to parody some of those things.

Either you have a severe reading comprehension problem or you actually think that ......He started welfare programs, preservation of animals, promoted an unprecedented surge in technological research and development, promoted and spoke about strong family values, got Germany out of a depression by lowering interest rates and implementing job programs, built a national highway system, nationalized the German currency, advanced rocketry that would eventually take us to the moon(the head of the U.S. space program that brought us to the moon was a Natzi by the way)........is all bad stuff.

You may just as well compare Obama and pretty much all other presidents for the last 60 years to hitler because they "used nationalist tactics".
