Heads up Skeptic! Avatars are going mad!

Looks like there was a recent change that makes avatars copy all the way down a persons post.

I know how much you all like my avatar, and it must be a good thing that I normally write far too long comments, so now you'll see it every pixel of the page down!

Oddly enough, yours looks fine while the OP's and Nonspecific's look weird. Mine did that once.

Like you, they're both using avatars ( smaller ) and the ones that are repeating are profile background images.

It could be worse. Do you remember the crazy hour a few years back when everybody on ATS had exactly the same weird avatar?
This was eventually tracked down to somebody making a mistake in updating their own.

Testing this for myself

SO has been incredibly busy these past few days with site business, DDoS attacks and he's a family man with a life too. Whatever the thing is with avatars, it'll be fixed at some point.

There's been some great new threads around here lately. Lots of classic ATS that aren't about politics. There are also a few tasty morsels out in the chit chat area.

IMHO we're doing well for threads and it'd be great to see more. I wonder if ATS could have a theme day or theme weekend were we all try to post a paranormal thread or a science thread etc. You know? Get people chipping in and participating more?

Anyway, it's early here and I'll be off to work soon so can't keep writing this post forever. How's about a quick shot of humour?

I guess with this new design layout, the avatar backgrounds are somehow 'glued' to the text post box section next to it.

Thus it's following the post box length and repeating, rather than 'unglueing' and only showing once at the top next to the posted text box.



Yes, that's the limit of my tech-lingo capabilities.

And the box spaces in the recent threads is kinda annoying. (as is the random background images on the left/right). I like it like it was. dark.. Please make it an option to turn off background random images too.

The background images for me are almost all gray tone and almost can't see it. Maybe because I am on desktop mode on my phone? But I zoom way out or way in with no change. Hmm

Are you using mobile? It might help to tell SO the browser and OS.

Mine is Pc/ win 10/ chrome and I see the infection!!!
