I have some perspective for you.

Many cannot leave.

It began innocently enough. Something of a microcosmic nuanced nudge into fascism. We followed a dream. Just did what we were told in school, then we did it in our jobs to make money. All the while being conditioned to follow a compliance based, zero tolerance type existence.

Then came the awakenings. People who believed they had done the right thing all their lives realized the paths they were being led down. They began to resist, benignly at first, but progressing toward an idea of liberty. They realized their protectors were their incarcerators. They realized they had never truly been free, and thus they broke. They broke in hopes of achieving escape velocity, but met an impenetrable wall of opposition. They paid the price.

This is the reality now. Heroes are persecuted as villains. Wrong is exalted as righteousness. Morality is criminally ignorant. Expressing truth is treasonous.

Yet, we bicker amongst ourselves over wether authority justifiably kills.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes right? See that all the time here anytime someone gets shot by the cops.

The only thing new here is what sounds like gun shots when he gets out. The fatal shots still don't come till he starts reaching around. Which to me makes me think that noise wasn't shots when he gets out. Cops don't really just shoot and then stop for ten seconds.
Goodwins law in the OP is a nice touch tho, nothing about the states resembles anything close to Nazi Germany.

I don't like that this guy died, that shouldn't be what the cops are there for. He deserved his day in court like everyone else. He had a pretty good chance to get that, and he decided to run. Then after having to dodge a road block gets out and starts screaming shoot me and ultimately starts reaching around at his waist when he is armed.

Are you among those that still believe cops have only the best intentions? Do you support their asinine antics? Are you blind to the detrimental effect they have had on society in the last decade and a half?

When a person cannot trust alleged "authority" they should run. This was an ambush plain and simple. He requested a meeting. He was willing to negotiate. They just had to follow, just pursue. It all could have been different. The fascist pigs knew it was a dead zone. They wanted the bloodshed more than the victim here. It is evident.

A terrified old man a his wits end and hounded by the government and then killed in the snow, is what I see.
I don't think he was reaching for a gun, I think he was shot in the side and Instinctively reaching for a wound.
