Thanks for wishing me a happy birthday! I do enjoy partaking in the occasional adult beverage on the day of my birth I'm not a fan of sweets though but thank you

I only reply to lurker topics

I have read the forums for a long, long time...but I only recently joined and started posting.

I read nearly every thread that gets posted with the exception of a few of the TV/movies/etc threads that are for things I know about already but in which I had no interest.

I read the boards at a somewhat slow time usually, and when I get on, most of the active or popular threads are already played out or at that point when a handful of people are the only ones really replying.

At that point, posting feels like walking into the middle of a someone's living room...so I end up reading.

I also write out a lot of replies to things, and I end up just deleting the post because I don't want to come across as a jerk (or I feel silly asking questions or giving input about a subject I'm not 100% knowledgeable over...)

Ah if you have a valid, interesting, reasoned, or controversial point to make then make it.
Nobody owns any conversation, even if it does seem all a bit too cozy in some threads.
If your comment is on-topic then throw it in, that's what it all about.
Interesting discussion

The Dos Equis guy comes to me for tips on how to be cool, therefore I'm too cool to post on ATS.

Present every day, reading and lurking and thinking. Sometimes I reply by hitting 'reply' and sometimes I just talk to the screen :-)

Not really a 'regular', reader in the past.

Was turned off by this becoming more 'right wing'. But that seems to have calmed down and as some poster said - it seems to be more in the Politics sections.

I do like the new format here too, works better.

Logged in and made some posts today at the urging of a friend. We both came back and started reading again, and we both like the new format. I'd say we're 'sharing a screen name' but it's more her hanging over my shoulder while I type lol.

I said - you should sign up too then. I've been gone for awhile myself though too.

Am liking the new format and will likely stick around and post more. Friend (who mooches my wifi) will likely stick around too. We both like the new format, have been looking for new places (others got stale and full of trolls), and I anyway plan to interact more here.

Always did like this site, read off and on, thought it got a little to - chaotic for awhile? For lack of a better way to say. Came back and am liking the new format so I will be coming back now.
