Lawmaker introduces sex offender castration bill in Alabama

NOW we're talking! I've said this (as many ATS members have as well) for the longest time! Castrate those mother humpers!!!! The only thing that I would change is the age; I would lower it to about 14.

Steve Hurst, a Republican from Munford, Ala., has introduced a bill that would require sex offenders older than 21 to pay for their own surgical castration before being released from state custody.

Hurst goes on To talk about the victims of such dispicable sex crimes-

"They (sex offenders) have marked these children for life. They will never get over it. And if they've marked children for life, they need to be marked for life."

I agree with this with one caveat: They must be absolutely sure of guilt in these cases. This isn't talking about chemical castration here, it is surgical, which I would imagine is not reversible.

But in essence I agree with it for child molesters, I would also go further and propose serial rapists too.

We could do a bill for castration in the UK especially as we are now faced with the grooming of our young by foreigners. We do in fact have enough of our own paedophiles without our government feeling it has to import more.

On the surface it sounds feasible, and my inclination is to support something like this, BUT...in the long term, it will make no more difference than the death penalty does. Murder has not slowed in those states that support it, nor will castration stop rapists and child molesters/pedophiles. What it will do is increase the violence of those acts/attacks, because those who have been surgically castrated will find something else to use. Ask female inmates about "jolly roger".

It's mixed nuts at best.

As stated in a prior reply, as long as guilt is established with certainty then by all means, snip snip, and as far as female offenders go, they have way about that too, I understand a hysterectomy tends to do a number on the female libido.

This will do nothing for these types of pigs unless you remove their brains.

you can become a sex offender for peeing in a park at night, this is a slippery slope.
