Idaho Pastor Shot a Day After Delivering Prayer for Cruz at Campaign Rally

Pastor Tim Remington, of the non-denominational Altar Church in Couer d'Alene, was shot in his church parking lot one day after giving the invocation at a campaign rally for Ted Cruz. Remington is reported in critical condition, and it is unknown what the outlook is like for his recovery.

Police told NBC station KHQ of Spokane, Washington that when officers arrived shortly before 2 p.m. (5 p.m. ET), they found a man with several gunshot wounds.

A description of the suspect was released:

The gunman fled and remains at large. An associate pastor at the church told KHQ that the gunman was described as a little more than 6 feet tall, with short curly blond hair, a slim build and glasses.

Without a suspect in custody or motive, it can only be speculated if the shooting was politically motivated.

Remington, a prominent spokesman for conservative issues, delivered the opening prayer for Cruz, a U.S. senator from Texas who is among the leading candidates for the Republican presidential nomination, at a rally Saturday at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.

Members of the Pastor's congregation have been trickling into their church, offering prayers for his recovery, according to Twitter. I hope he makes it through this and my thoughts go to his family in a horrific incident like this.

The only positive thing about this is that a crazy person shot another crazy person.If he lives he can claim that god helped him through and if he dies he gets to be with his beloved maker, win win.

Too soon to know what caused the suspect to try and kill the Pastor. History is replete with killers driven by political agendas.

What did i write thats not on topic? he happens to be a pastor how is that relevant? how many posts starts with plumber shot outside house after installing lead pipes in michigan.
it seems that being a pastor is somehow special and relevant.
it could just be a person shooting another person like it happens 90 times everyday in murica. nothing special clear the streets.
