Do aliens live among us? - The weird beings from Conil

Hello ATS, today I bring to you perhaps the most famous Spanish case, the source is in Spanish and it has a lot of information, I will translate everything. I will leave behind what I think is less relevant, if you want more details or need help translating anything, P.M. me. The sources will be at the end as always.

The Conil Case



- Los Bateles beach, Conil.

On September 29, 1989, something weird happened on the beach of Los Bateles. Five young people from the town of Conil used to gather every night at this beach between 20:00 and 21:00 hours. The reason of these gathering was to see the strange lights that appeared at night.

In September of 1989 the inhabitants of Conil, had several nights watching some lights in the sky that made some erratic movements but soundlessly. These lights became an attraction for its inhabitants, which came to the beach to observe the phenomenon and it was on September 29 when a group of five young people, Isabel and her brother Lázaro, Pedro Sánchez, Loli Bermúdez and Pedro González decided to go to the beach to watch the lights in the sky.

About 20:45 hours, they saw an object, it looked like a crescent shaped with red lights inside which passed in complete silence towards the village. Immediately, the boys spotted two lights, one above their heads and the other on the port of Conil. it all lasted around 30 minutes. At 21:00 hours, about 50 meters away from them it appeared out of the darkness a couple of beings.

As the beings approached, the young people were sure that these beings were not human. Hidden behind a mound and with the help of their binoculars they saw the figures of the two beings, they were very tall, possibly exceeded 2 meters, they dressed in a white robe that reached the floor, they walked awkwardly and the young people said they had no face nor hair. Thereupon the strange beings began to move towards the young people causing them to leave running in terror.

The two beings stopped and turned their backs to the young people, ignoring them, they seemed watching a strange light on the port, the young people also stopped and stayed observing the movements of the strange beings. Soon a small blue sphere began to descend from the sky, stopping within a small distance from the beings. Immediately, the two beings sat in the sand and began to dig and make a horseshoe shaped mound. The beings lay down on the sand and they started bouncing the small blue sphere at each other as if playing.

The five young people were still watching the beings when a dark figure approached from the sea wrapped with a kind of fog and gave the sensation of floating, this new being was taller than the other two that were lying on the sand, his clothing were black and had a monstrous white head with two large black holes instead of eyes. The young people have had enough emotions already and were ready to leave when they saw that the tall being was gone and the two lying beings incorporated with a new look. They now had a human face, had become a man and a woman with nordic features, the man was very tall and blond, he was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and the woman which was also very tall but not as tall had long dark hair, she was wearing a long white skirt, the young people were very confused.

The two beings, started to walk toward the streets of Conil. Two of the young people began to follow them but stopped when they saw over the sea a sort of cloud approaching at high speed towards them, Pedro Gonzalez with the help of his binoculars observed the tall black dressed being. The young people couldnt fully appreciate the features of this being so they agreed to get closer to see it better, the being then stopped and stared at the witnesses, then turned around and got lost in the shadows. The young people realized that because of the appearance of this being they lost sight of the other two beings which headed toward the streets of Conil.

After the event, the young people continued on the beach. They were waiting the arrival of an acquaintance, Juan Bermudez. The young people discussed what happened and decided to remain silent, at 22:30 hours Juan Bermudez arrived and they told him what happened, he recommended them to intern at the beach to look for evidence. They found some footprints in the sand, 45 cm long and 15 cm wide, they also observed other tracks that had one characteristic in common, it had four fingers, these tracks were heading to the village and departed from the mound made by the two beings.

Despite having agreed to remain silent, the news was known in the village the next day.



- On October 5, Diario de Cádiz put the news on the front page of the newspaper, the news was known quickly in Spain.

On October 7 the Spanish research group of UFO phenomenon (GEIFO), went to Conil and interviewed the young people. They also performed a investigation on the beach of Los Bateles. Some others well known ufologists also came to Conil, Jesus Borrego also interviewed the young people.

For the GEIFO group, Borregos statements were nothing but an attempt to give credence to a case they already considered a fraud, also on October 16 the Diario de Cádiz, which was the one that brought to light this case, reported the case was nothing but a fraud. According to the GEIFO group the young people were heavily influenced by the news that appeared in the media on the Voronezh case, these young people, always according to the research of the GEIFO group, mistook several normal situations, which led them to see the UFO, the beings, etc.



- Diario de Cádiz said that what the young people saw were nothing but british divers.

The GEIFO group communicated that what the young people saw were the lights in the distance of the ship C.S. Monarch that was located in the coast of the alleged sighting with extraterrestrials. 10 years after that statement, the GEIFO group completely changes this statement and reports that the ship was not on the coast but 10 km from it.

The GEIFO group communicated that the being of 3 meters was a diver of the C.S. Monarch and that at a given moment the diver must had moved to the beach in a zodiac and that was what the young people mistook for a light. The GEIFO group said that the "human" couple were nothing but normal people, who were lying down on the sand and at one point, before the arrival of the ship they just left the place.

As said before, the GEIFO group said the ship was relatively close to the beach, the ship captain, Donaghy, when he met with J.J Benítez, said that the day of the sighting, the ship was 53 km from the beach . Donaghy told J.J Benitez that no one else had asked him about the matter and Donaghy said the C.S. Monarch had no divers on the ship.

Donaghy told J.J Benítez that four officers of the C.S. Monarch observed a strange red light in the afternoon of that day, Friday, September 29, 1989. The light appeared around at 20:00 hours thus forcing the ship moving toward it at full speed, as it is kept in the logbook. A light that initially was associated with a fishing boat, but, was it really a fishing boat?

On September 29, the radar of the military base in Algeciras was disabled, unable to register anything. Local police officers also witnessed strange luminous objects on the repeater of Telefónica. The sighting was short in duration and no noise was heard.

For the ufologists who investigated the case, the GEIFO report was just a work of concealment of what may be one of the most important UFO cases of Spain. J.J. Benítez collected evidence in search of truth, interviewed the local police officers in Conil, the civil guards, the ship captain, etc. J.J. Benítez wrote this in his book "La quinta columna".

Again, I did not mention everything about this case, there were apparently other witnesses as well that saw it and one which saw the dark tall being when walking alone in the morning (the being was like whistling and when the witness whistled back the being got really surprised), the young people, days after, saw the alien couple in the streets but after following them they vanished on the beach, etc. Sorry but I didnt want to make this thread too long.

Wether this happened or not, is not the first time I read and / or heard of aliens which infiltrate in our society, right now it comes to mind that Michael Wolf guy who said that 1000 aliens live in Spain. Interesting, because if you think about it, that would be the best way to understand, to see, to experience a civilization without disturbing it, therefore you can even interact with its species, it would be the perfect method rather than the using of robots, cloaking, etc.

I wonder what would happen in todays society if something like that happens again, we have enough technology and gadgets to record everything, are the aliens aware of this and therefore changed another gear so they are not caught on video? perhaps their technology is so far beyond that is not a problem for them still...

Not addressing the other aspects of this case, just this one photo. It appears the beach where these prints were laid down was brushed beforehand, then the prints were added. How could they know where these 'beings' were going to walk ahead of time?

Well spotted.

Maybe because that particular part of the beach had been brushed, it enhanced the footprints and if it had not been brushed beforehand, they would have no photos of them?

Are there any other photos showing brush marks anywhere else on the beach?

Very interesting O.P. I thought I saw a UFO once in Spain, but it turned out to be the setting Sun reflecting off a plane.

Nice bit of work you've done there. However, eyewitness accounts are almost universally dismissed as unreliable bunkum. In the US anyway, people believe if it wasn't reported on CNN, it didn't happen.

I had never heard of this one. Thank you for bringing it up and for presenting such a detailed posting.

Well that.... and the 'prints' appear to have been drawn in the brushed sand by a finger or stick by the person that walked through there wearing shoes!

Even with binoculars seeing these beings from 50m would be difficult in the darkness of a late September evening and then this part of the story :

Was the beach artificially illuminated? Seems as though there is a lot of confusion surrounding what these people saw.

This type of article is why I joined ATS in the first place. Even though I usually have nothing of value to offer, I wanted to thank the OP for an excellent post. I had never heard of this case but, you can believe I will be doing some digging.

Maybe the long robes dragging along as described and shown above in the OP made the brush-like marks?

Just a thought.

Another member who has never heard of this sighting before. Its a good one too. The drawing of the aliens sort of reminds me of something like it thats been seen in cave drawings somewhere.

does that include the picture of the horseshoe-shaped mound? It looks nothing like the drawn diagram.
