Congrats. Your "big annoying message" is as blockable as any ad.
Keep it up.
ATS new motto: Alienate the userbase. Serve the malware.
I guess it's time to migrate to the forum that shan't be named.

Just do it, why all the carry on? Whitelist ATS. over, nothing has changed.

Well obviously I already did, or I wouldn't be talking to you.

I've got 4,430 posts, i've been here a couple weeks shy of 12 years, I still see ads when i turn the blocker off.

The metric for disabling ads for members favors content-starters, those who create threads. Your flag count is low, that's why you're not in the upper-category.

Good news
. I stated my price, I will wait for your. It's a pleasure doing business directly with you and not with the advertiser.

Edit: About the fact that you work on" user can pay to avoid adds".

You can?

You keep playing a victim when all you're really doing is complaining that your business practices are no good.

Advertiser don't want to host ads here? That's on you.
People don't want to pay for your services through advertisements? That's on you.

If advertisements are your business model, don't make it deceptive so as to prey on emotions... that's shady.

You want some advice? Stop trying to squeeze a dollar out of a dime - that is your issue here. If you want to sell more, you need to increase your user base, not your page adverts. Keep up with spam adverts, over moderating / fussing at / warning your customers, and you will run them off. Make this place user friendly, and you'll get users.

Instead of trying to force customers to buy what you're selling, you should sell them what they want.

May be, but the none paying subscriber or visitor will still see your adds. Right now I don't even have the option to pay you for the service in exchange of not getting adds, so I block them. Give me the option, state your price!

Sounds reasonable .

I'm not up to speed on the rules for ad revenues and the do's and dont's of the industry , but would the following work?

The issue with ads is their annoyances level when trying to read , view content ,or getting a pop up in the middle of an article when you are Immersed in the subject, so why not create a [Click me to Support ATS for free] button.

1. Users could click the button before or after they are done with reading material. Or it could be simulated before or after logon, or set within a time frame alert.

2. The button would bring up a page just of ads or pop ups.

3. User could have new ATS profile indicator that would be green, yellow, red to indicate when they need to hit the button.

If its valid within the online ad world, I think that would be the best bet for everyone. You get the ad views and the users don't get disrupted when reading content.

I never said that. We have a very high-demand for certain ads.

No I still wonder why I have to unblock my adblocker although I cannot see the adds, and never had to before.

Is this something new?

Just ignore me

You do, that's interesting, seriously, I don't see them so I wonder which one.

Which ones?

If I don't see them, even though I have white listed ATS...how are you getting paid then?

Your account status has reached the point where we wouldn't show you ads. You superstar you.

When I disable ad-block I still receive a top banner and side advert. For better or worse, I have higher numbers than Jakal. Any idea why I'm still seeing them when that member is not?

Am I being punished?

It's malware for the brain, malware for the mind, it redirects emotion and the need of love and security towards buying useless crap often made by slave-workers. See my signature for the full statement. And there have been numerous studies done on what advertisements do to your brain and my brain and everyone's brain. It's manipulation and deception. We are only conscious of a small part of what our brain does, ads use that fact to brainwash us.

Are people that mush-minded that they cannot ignore an ad?

Then what is the answer, Bill?

This surely isn't. It's pissing people off.

If people block ads, then you lose, if you cripple member access, some of them go away, thus generating less content to draw in non-members to get fed ads, you lose....if members paying you money isn't enough, you lose.

What's the answer?

That's funny because yesterday, when I saw the unblock thingy for the first time I thought I was in trouble,

I'm not complaining, not complaining, not me, just enjoying the conversation, nice break from the forum

No, you said that their statement about how they were only going to disable it on ATS, because they like their adblock, made you fear for the future of independent thought on the internet.

That's what i was referring to. Maybe you guys don't bomb, but the rest of the net sure as hell does.
